The positioning of the new TPS IS OFFSET....It is possible to install it wrong by accident..I have seen this happen before..The pressure from the sensor plastic actuator has been installed and slightly twisted against the throttle lever inside which causes throttle to raise slightly....Wear safety glasses and disconnect battery..Remove sensor slowly and carefully while removing and watch the throttle lever inside to see if it moves in any direction...Carefully install it again making sure it doesn't twist the throttle lever inside where sensor mounts...The lever on the sensor should stay in its position...Carefully install sensor making sure it doesn't twist...Connect wiring and battery and start for a safety check.....It is possible to have a wrong sensor or faulty new sensor...Double check that it is the correct sensor...

My 03 wrangler will not rev past 3,500 rpm

Do you have a trouble code for the throttle position sensor ?
If you have normal fuel pressure, the TPS would be the next thing to check. Problem could be in the harness between the sensor and the computer too.

GMC throttle body problems

It is running lean. Did someone adjust the air opening vane to make open more at full throttle? Check it with a scan tool. Change the Idle Air Control valve. The only cost a couple bucks and are easy to change. You may have trash in your fuel bowls clogging or blocking idle jets.

I've just replaced two of my senser's, the throttle senser and the air-intake senser. now my engine is idling very high, how do I lower the Idle?

You have a bad ( IAC ) idle air control valve you can either replace it or you can take it off and clean it with a non-chlronated brake cleaner and wire brush. After you reinstall it you have to reset the computer by either taking the ground cable off the battery for 30 seconds or pull the ECM fuse out of fuse box then reinstall or you can reset it with a scan tool.

Why thats throttle position senser goes bad on my vw golf.

It might not be broken but need to be realigned. Once in a while the default position for idle is lost and needs to be re-learned by the ECU using a scan tool. This is called throttle idle position adaption.

My truck idles high and i dont know why.and my tail light on the passenger side rear.blinkss on at times then off. the rear light has been changed. the fuse has been checked. am thinking there is a short.

Check for vaccume leaks around the throttle body or you may need a throttle position senser. The tail light may need the light sockt it's self replaced or you could have a bad connection where the light harness plugs to the chassis harness.

1993 toyota 4x4 idle problem

sounds like your throttle positioning sensor is not set right so i would undo the two phillips heads that hold it and turn it till the idle doesnt fluctuate should be turned most of the way to the front of the truck. Also check your idle screw that throttle body could be set different.
