Raise top by prying lose clips on front, remove 2 screws holding front in place (inside cabinet) and disconnect wirings, removed front (panel with door) panel, removed 4 screws holding inside front panel in and lifted it out, released tensioner from belt, lifted out drum out of unit, vacuumed accumulated lint from machine, motor, wiring, checked and greased drum rollers and tension pulley, cleaned drum edge from accumulated roller debris using automotive brake rotor cleaner, reintsalled drum, applied automotive belt dressing to belt and reassembled. Working for now. If reoccurs I will replace drum rollers and tension pulley.

Probably serpentine belt to loose.
It is common. Have it checked.
Also can be water or oil getting on belt and it starts slippering and makes the noise.
Good Luck

The gear selector is called a derailleur and that would only make noises if the chaine is rubbing. If it is a bottom bracket issue then take it to a reputable bike shop and have them give it a once over. A bike is a transportation device and needs to be maintained as such by skilled professionals.
