I took my camera out on an extremely cold day (-30C) to get some shots, and the screen was completely black. I took osme photos anyways, and I could hear the mechanics of the camera working. When I got home and checked my memory card, the photos I took were there. The screen is now displaying a lot of horizontal white lines that look like TV static, no error message on the screen though. I've put in a fresh battery, let it sit with the screen on for a while to see if it clears up, and haven't taken it back out in the cold since. Is there anyway to fix this?
Camera is defect for sure, but don't tell anyone in the service centre, because they warn you not to take a camera out in extreme cold. You should not se the camera in environments below zero degrees
I'm afraid you can't fix it yourself, and before bringing it to a Canon Certified repair centre, ask them what it could cost.
