When switch is on automatic generator will not turn off
It is possibly a transfer switch issue, not the generator control board. Have an electrican kill utility power, let it start and run, then disconnect the sensing wires in the ATS. If it stops problem is ATS
Testimonial: "Thanks I'll try that But what's the ATS ?"
If the generator starts when switched to Auto and Utility power is still available, the most common cause is a blown N1 or N2 fuse in the transfer switch. If you are not comfortable working on 240 volt power supply, please call a certified electrician to test and replace the fuses in the transfer switch.

Sorry ATS is automatic transfer switch. The switch sends a signal to the generator on a Generac via a 240V sensing wire, this is how the generator knows to switch back and turn off. Check the fuses in the ATS if it has them, some models do some do not
