Some Wind Tunnels by Hoover have a poor design in the switch on the handle. Sometimes the switch does not turn on all the way and will stop running. Other times you can't turn the unit off.

How do I replace a Hoover wind tunnel height lever

There are some disassembly videos here, but basically you undo screws until you get to it. Lay everything out in the order it came apart and take pictures.

How do you change the Hoover wind tunnel belts?

If you turn the vacuum over there will be (4) screws that hold on the base cover for the roller brush. Remove the screws and the cover and you can get to the belt(s). You can get replacement belts here:

Hoover Wind Tunnel does not turn on

that is a pretty good lifespan for a hoover, but its probably the power switch that's bad. Hoover uses a very poor quality switch. It shouldn't cost to much to have it replaced

Filter in Hoover Wind Tunnel Vacuum

Definitely not. Do not use water or any liquids to clean it. Te normal use life is 2-3 years keeping it maintained. You can clean it dry with the dust brush from your vac attachments. place in a plastic bag and tap it some folks even us an air compressor to blow out the impacted dirt. you will only want to use the Hoover brand, other generic brands dont fit as well.

Hoover Dirt Finder (light) not working

Good be a bad sensor, but if less then a year old, it is under warranty. I would take it in to a warranty repair shop and have them fix it.

Hoover Wind Tunnel U6439-900

There was a recall from Hoover awhile back regarding the switch, On the model number tag is an 1-800 #, call it and have your model and serial number ready, they will tell you if you need repair from this recall. But if it is only 2 or 3 years old, then it isn't for your model. Otherwise just replace the switch.
