Could be the settings need adjusting.....to help you should check these settings and set to!
ISO to High ISO Auto.
AF to Auto
When taking the photo press the shutter button halfway till the window shows a green light (if the window red then not focused so release button and try again) then continue to press the shutter button till the picture is taken!
It sounds like your camera settings have the( AF Assist Beam) on Off? That is the Amber Color light you see when you half press the shutter button. If that setting is set to OFF, then the camera can not focus in low light giving you blurry pictures as it can not see any light to assist the camera on focusing. If you turn on the (AF Assist Beam) to on, they when you press the shutter button half ways down you will see a Reddish/ Amber light, that light helps the camera find a focus point, giving you a slightly better low light photo.
It is almost impossible to not use the AF mode from the camera. Perhaps you managed to put the camera in Accessery lens AF, without any extra lens on the camera. Or perhaps only the pictures are blurred, because you zoomed in to far, without a tripod.
As long as I can't see a picture it is difficult to decide where the problem comes from.
While shooting a picture, just press the shutter release button half, till the green light goes on. Then press the button fully.
Most digital cameras have an auto focus function, to activate the auto focus press the shutter button half way down until the you get a green light or indicator then press the shutter button the rest of the way down.
Hold the shutter button down half way to automatically adjust the focus.
You should hear a tone and/or see an icon on the screen to tell you it is focussed.
Also, read the instruction manual!

The "shutter" button actually has two states, one is a "half down" position which is when you press it lightly. When you hold it in this position, the AF does some happy little blurring and centering and will eventually show boxes that it focused on. That's the time to press the button the rest of the way down. Be sure you're doing this when you try to snap a photo with AF. :3
Make sure both lens and body are set for autofocus. There are two switches near each other with "AF" and "M" settings.
Check the camera's focusing settings, or do a factory reset (from menu) to 'start over'. Usually helps to have AF-Assist on.
Try setting the AE/AF-lock button (upper rear, near right thumb when holding camera) to turn on AF. The camera may respond better to this than half-pressing the shutter release.
Make sure the lens is fully attached to the camera. You shouldn't be able to rotate the lens without depressing the lens release button, and you should be able see a tight seal between the two.
When operating any digital camera, the camera tries to capture the best focus and exposure for that particular scene. By pressing the shutter button half-way down, the focus and exposure is being set. There will be a green circle on the upper left hand corner of the screen, then your camera is ready to take the picture. Slowly depress the shutter the rest of the way down to take the picture.
Your camera's Focus mode may be set on Macro Selectable in which case the Auto Focus Range will be "wide: 0.07–0.7 m, tele: 0.4–0.7 m (macro AF)" as quoted in the specifications from www.kodak.com web page for the EasyShare M1033. While this setting is great for a close-up of a flower, anything more than a meter (about one yard) away will be blurred unless you reset your Auto Focus mode back to "normal AF" or "landscape mode"
AF single or AF continuous can be selected. In AF single mode, focus is calculated and set when the shutter-release button is pressed partway down. This mode is mainly useful for a stationary subject. In AF continuous mode, camera continues to focus on a moving subject even when the shutter-release button is pressed partway down. It is convenient to capture the moving subject. Full Time AF that continues focusing without pressing the shutter-release button can be used in both AF modes.
