When jump starting any car you put the positive (red) cable on the positive battery terminal (look for red or the + symbol near the terminal) and the negative cable on a piece of bare metal away from the battery. Almost any bare spot will do as they are all grounded. Make sure the cables and connections won't interfere with the fan or the belts (ie the moving parts under the engine). The negative connection is done last. That way, if there is any spark from connecting the jumper wires it will be away from the battery. Similarly when you remove the cables, remove the negative cable first and then the positive cable. Fumes from the battery can be explosive so you don't want any spark around there.
