Possibly not quite enough battery charge or a faulty / old battery.

The Hudl has been notorious for battery issues.There are a couple of things that you can try:

• Check the software is up to date - Tescos have issued a number of firmware updates to address such issues
• Use a different charger - The tablet may show it is being charged, but it could be misreporting it due to a multitude of issues with the charge coming through

If neither of these help, I suggest sending it off to Tesco if it is still under warranty. As I said before they have had quality control issues with the batteries.

Hi. To transfer your photos from your computer to your Hudl 2, connect you charging cable to your computer. Make sure that your Hudl 2 is show under the 'My Computer' page of your folder section. Then select your phots and drag the into the Photos folder of you Hudl 2. This can be found by double tapping the Hudl 2 icon on your pc.

According to Salivat Gairdner, below is How to un-freeze your hudl.

Turn over your hudl and search for a hole. Once you've found it, find a pen or pin and push it in. The hudl's screen should turn off. Turn the hudl back on using the power button and your set!

How to fix the freezing bug

Tesco has released an update which includes a setting in the Display section. It should automatically install, if it doesn't go to Settings then to About Tablet. Click on System Updates and wait for the hudl to find the update, if it does find one - leave it be until the installation has finished. Once it's finished, go back to Settings then to Display. Click on Reset touch screen, this is what causes the hudl to freeze. Click on Reset screen and your done!

Try holding power button until tablet goes off then press and hold power button and volume up when screen lights up release both then press power button and then volume up to get reboot screen delete factory data then press on reboot now.

The Hudl can be restarted by putting a pin in the tiny hole on the back of the Hudl. Did this and it sorted the "recovery systme v4.2.41" no start problem.

Got a Hudl yesterday. Am trying to turn it on today, seems fully charged. Star came up then battery, then nothing.
