The computer hardware may be 64 bit but is the Operating system you have loaded 64 Bit or 32 BIT?. If you have a 32 Bit operating system loaded this would explain your problem.

SOURCE: I have windows vista and when i try to run itunes

Hi, you can check which version of Windows you have by clicking on the Start button (the Vista orb) and from the Start menu, right click on Computer. Choose Properties from the menu that appears, and you'll see a lot of information about your computer. There should be a line that says whether you have a 32-bit version of Vista or a 64-bit version. Depending on which version you have, you'll need to download the compatible version of iTunes. You can download both versions here:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

For the 32-bit version, click the Download Now button; for the 64-bit version, scroll down to where you see the link for 64-bit installer on the left hand side and click it.

Hope that helps!

Sounds like you are attempting to install the 64 bit version on a 32 bit PC. You will need a 32 bit install disk.

Acer gigabyte ga 8i945gzme motherboard drivers download

Make sure you downloaded the correct drivers for your operating system. Check if you OS is 64 or 32 bit, you can follow these steps to do that: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows7/find-out-32-or-64-bit
If your operating system is 64 bit or x64 you can use the 64 bit or x64 installer, otherwise download the 32 bit or x86 driver.

If that didn't fix your problem, try right clicking the installer and click Properties>"Compatibility" tab> select "Run Program as Administrator"

Is there any way to manually update windows 7?

Hello your computers homepage is here.

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Product/optiplex-745

Yes there is a way to upgrade (i guees you mean the sevice pack)

You can download the sp1 here:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5842

But you have to know if your system is 32 or 64 bit.

If your system is 64 bit:

Download this file.

windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe

And the 32 bit:

windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe

When downloaded run the exe program

Then you forceing it to install the sevice pack.

A firewall/antivirus could be blocking so you can`t update the service pack. Try to set it off while you install sp1.
Remember to set it on again when the job is done.

Your Pc haves to restart many times after this.

Good luck

You need to check the specifications of your laptop it may not be able to run Windows 7.
You need these specs:
  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor

  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

I have an Acer Aspire one and it won't let me change my resolution off of 800x600 I have windows 7 ultimate x64 (32-bit right?) i need help to get my 1024x600 res back.

Generally - you simply need to right-click anywhere on the desktop that does not have an icon present, and select "Screen resolution". Adjust the slider as needed to obtain the desired resolution. If the resolution desired is not available, choose another that is close.

Digging deeper, you might want to investigate the "Advanced settings" to make sure that you've got the correct drivers loaded in the settings for both the "Adapter" and "Monitor" tabs.

Lastly, "Windows Ultimate x64" is the 64 bit version of Windows. The 32-bit version is referred to as "Windows Ultimate x86" If there are both 32-bit and 64-bit drivers available for your Aspire, make sure you get the correct version 32-bit = x86 and 64-bit = x64. The "x86" tag came from the Intel processor line up where the "x" represented the generation (8, 16 and 32 bit CPUs) and the "86" were the last two digits to indicate the instruction set used by the CPU like this:

8086, 80286, 80386, 80486, etc.

The 64 bit CPUs are not x86 family processors, so they do not carry the x86 tag. Please rate this reply if it was helpful to you - good luck!

IE 32-bit browser need to run on my 64-bit browser

Hi buddy323,

You will find the 32 bit browser on your Vista installation disk. Or your restore CD from Dell.

If you can't find it there, you can download it HERE. Or may want to go for the IE version 8.

Good Luck and don't forget to leave a rating.

Thanks Mark
