My R-51 will not charge a new replacement battery. I have uninstalled the IBM Battery Maximizer program, downloaded the latest version 1.38, and installed it with default settings. Battery still drained to 3% and will not charge. Charger is original IBM unit supplied with the R-51. It powers laptop without battery OK, and will charge old original IBM battery. This is second replacement from same company (eBATT), first would not charge either. [email protected]

Take it to a very good technician who will open it up and check a dry joint in the charging system.  Sometimes if you donot attend to it quickly you may find your T22 refusing to power at all with the AC Adaptor.  Delicate soldering may solve your problem.  Power may not be getting to the charging circuit and the battery thus it is totaly discharged.

I think you have a battery problem and that is why it is not charging properly. Its need to be recllibrated. Try this

Run your laptop of the battery until the whole battery power comes to zero. When it does the laptop will shut down automatically. Now connect the charger and try to recharge the battery. Don't turn on the laptop, just switch on the charger.

Wait for about two hours, and start your laptop. If you see the same thing as before, then you might need to change the battery.
