Are you sure its the condenser fan? The fan is attached to the compressor power and wont run unless the compressor is running. On the other hand the fans inside the cooler will run 24/7 and are designed for continuous duty. If someone has worked on the compressor wiring you may have to re establish the wiring following the wiring diagram. I have seen condenser fans wired in hot areas to run continuously to attempt to cool down a hot compressor or compensate for a worn out or damaged condenser that doesn't get rid of the heat from the system. If that is the case a new condensing unit is probably in your future. Hope this helps good luck.
Is the compressor running? Is the condenser clean and the fan running? Is the fan inside running? Is there ice on the coil? Those are the first things I would check after I check to see that the plug has power and the temperature control is turned on.
The hose that goes into the drip pan to defrost the refer is plugged with stuff. take the back off and see the hose connection.A coat hanger works well.Usually a 1/4" hose. Also see where the bottom of the freezer drains into the drip pan. That may be plugged, also. The temp may be set too low and the condenser is frozen up,leaking water into the floor.Just ice stuck to the condenser. Possible that the condenser FAN stopped turning. That will ice up and melt at random: see/hear that the fan is working. If stuff gets into the fan,it will ice up,melt and make a mess on the floor.
As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...
Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...
1.It's a dirty condenser - clean it with soft vacuum brush 2.If it's clean - check condenser fan motor-it's located behind or before condenser - it should running.
ur compressor is trying to start but the safety is turning it off may have a bad compressor but try this first might get it working again -(safety click sound) disconnects power when compressor gets to hot or is drawing to many amps--stuck--comp gets hot unplug unit and clean with a vacuum carefully under where comp and fan are this is the condenser area after cleaning or 1 hr plug in and check for start and that condenser fan is working may be reason for overheating-if still not working compressor needs service
There is two kind of condenser: one called condenser with forced air flow and condenser with natural air flow!!! Your freezer have the condenser with natural air flow. . One mistake which people do is that they don't really know how to install the refrigerator or freezers. What distance to the wall which they can respect. This distance is what we call the ventillation distance which allow the natural air or forced air to flow and cool down the compressor and the condenser. That mean , remove immediately your freezer to 1 foot from the wall. unplug 15 mins and plug again it will work very good. Enjoy
Don't know what kinda freezer this is? Commercial? Look for dirty condenser coils/ fins. Be sure air can circulate around condenser. Possibly low on refrigerant (freon). Need more info for more detail solutions.
I would think that the reason the red power wire melted, was because of high amperage, not getting wet. After you replaced it the condenser fan came on, but did the compressor? It may have went out before and that's what caused the bad wire. If you have a volt/ohm meter I can help you check it out.
