Why don't you return it? I think this is a common problem. We returned ours to Home Depot with no questions asked.

SOURCE: vent fan high comes on automatically with cooking

Right, that would be MCO10UW and the owner's manual is here.

The owner's manual does say this, of course,

"To prevent overheating from taking place, the exhaust
fan is designed to automatically turn on at a low speed if
excessive temperatures occur. Should this happen, the
fan cannot be manually turned off, but it will
automatically turn off when the internal parts have
cooled. The fan may stay on for up to an hour after the
range and microwave oven controls have been turned
off."

That;'s standard on microwaves.

But these models do have a separate internal cooling fan (which should run any time you microwave) plus the hood vent exhaust fan, which should only run when you select it, or if there is an excessive stovetop or under-hood temperature.

So if it comes on whenever you microwave, that is incorrect.

When that happens, it's usually a defective vent thermal switch (a.k.a. hood TCO).

But since it's brand new, I would certainly contact Magic Chef about this. If it's in need of repair, they will fix it free, assuming the oven wasn't physically damaged.

SOURCE: Microwave still runs but is not cooking food

Sounds like a bad magnetron, i would replace the magnetron, Capacitor and Diode at the mag assembly, to be honest it will cost you more to fix than a new one.............

No power in microwave - vm11b8p magic chef

The incoming power wire goes onto a small pc board, the fuse is located onto that small pc board. If it is not visible then you have to remove it and turn the board around. You should locate it on the other side

Magic chef microwave MCO153UBF When I open the door the microwave trips the breaker. Turning on the breaker, I can run the microwave but as soon as the door is open it trips the breaker again.

Sounds like you need to replace the door switches the part number for this is 99002254. To gain access you must take the control loose. Be sure to unplug the unit before starting any work. I attached a link that may help you.

Trips circuit breaker when not in use or when door is shut

There is a short to ground somewhere inside, in the electrics, possibly the magnetron filament. Take it to a competent service person, and do not mess with it yourself as microwaves have a very high voltage circuit inside which can kill you.

My Magic Chef microwave tripped a breaker,I found a melted door switch and replaced it, the other three test ok.With the door closed everything works like new. When the door is opened the breaker blow

The only thing I can think of is check to make sure all switches are aligned correctly otherwise you will keep tripping the breaker, I'am certain that one of your switches are not properly in position.

The unit shuts off after 2.5 to 3 minutes of heating. It remains off for 4-5 minutes and then can be re-started.

I would bet that either your internal cooling fan is not running, or the magnetron is otherwise overheating.

We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are operating here.

It is vital that the cooling fan runs, or the magnetron will be destroyed.

Let me know if I can help you further.
