Try to restart the Ipod.

Hold the select button and the menu at the same time until you see the screen go off.

If still does not work then try to enter disk mode and see if it works.

Disk Mode:
Reboot the ipod via Select and menu, right away hold the select and play button and hold until disk mode comes on. Does the wheel work?

If still does not work then reboot the ipod again and let it reboot normal to go back in apple firmware. If all buttons are working and none of the above works, I would assume it is not software related.

Only turn on de logo apple no more

Hi, NOTE: First make sure that your iPod's hold button isn't on. This is the little switch at the top left corner of the click wheel iPod that you can move to "lock" the iPod's buttons. If this is on, you'll see a little orange area at the top of the click wheel iPod and a lock icon on the iPod's screen. If you see either of these, move the switch back and see if this fixes the problem.

If the hold switch wasn't the problem do the following:

Move the hold switch to the on position and then move it back to off.

Hold down the Menu button on the click wheel and the center button at the same time. Hold these together for 6-10 seconds. This should restart the iPod video. You'll know the iPod is restarting when the screen changes and the Apple logo appears.

If this doesn't work at first, you should repeat the steps.

If this doesn't work, you should try plugging your iPod into a power source and let it charge. Then repeat the steps.

If this doesn't work, you may have a bigger problem, and ought to get more help.

I-Pod wheel broken?

To reset an iPod with a Click Wheel, including: ipodnano3.jpg ipodclassic.jpg icon_ipod_5g.gif ipodnano2.jpg ipodnano.jpg ipodphoto.gif ipodg4.gif ipodmini.gif
  • iPod nano (3rd generation)
  • iPod classic
  • iPod (5th generation)
  • iPod nano (2nd generation)
  • iPod nano
  • iPod with color display (iPod photo)
  • iPod (Click Wheel)
  • iPod mini
  • iPod mini (2nd generation)
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
