Sony Walkman NWZ-S615F problem with secure WMA files
I have a Sony Walkman NWZ-S615F and am not able to use secure WMA files encoded at 32 kbps (audiobooks) on it. Both the Sony site and Overdrive (audiobook site) say it's compatible. Help!!! I have downloaded the security upgrade to Windows Media Player - and my operating system is XP. Kim
That is NOT true. I am on my Third Sony Walkman. The first two worked perfectly with Overdrive. It didn't work with Audible, but I had NO PROBLEMS. After losing my first one, I bought a replacement, the same exact model number as I had, and the new one does not work. I have been trying to see what the difference are and beside two years, I can not find any. This is so frustrating. I have a NWZ-S544, they are on the same firmware and everything. I love my Walkman, but if I can't get it to work with Overdrive, it isn't much use to me, and I listen to two audio books a week! I am trying myself Kim. Good Luck. That is NOT true. It is so easy to transfer music files, videos and pictures to a Sony Walkman using Windows Explorer. Of-course, it is almost same for other manufacturer products as well. Now, drag and drop the music files or folders into theMUSICfolder.
Drag and drop video files or folders into theVIDEOfolder.

I had the same problem. One day my Mp3 started acting weird and said it was not recognizing the files and that i needed to re download them. Try plugging it up to your computer while its charging and hit the power off. Then reset your mp3 with the button at the bottom and it should recognize it.
This player is pretty specific about the bitrates/formats of MP4's it will accept:
It will accept MP4 SP and MP4 AVC
Only two bit rate options: 384 kbps vid/128 kbps aud.; or 768 kbps vid./128 kbps aud.
There cannot be any kind of copy protection on the MP4's
The Media Manager doesn't actually convert the video files - you will have to use an outside converter such as Arcsoft Media Converter or Riva FLV Encoder - make sure you get a program that will allow you to specify exact bit rates.
