Where can I find a foot pedal for a White sewing machine Model 967 or one that is compatable?

The foot pedal I have now has a cord that has a plug for the pedal and the light.

SOURCE: foot pedal assembly for White sewing machine

You only need to replace the cord if it has been damaged. It will cost less if you just take the machine , cord and control to a local technician and have him just replace the foot control. Let him test it first. A generic foot control should cost less than $30.

You need to purchase a foot control with a M&L block and that will fix you up. The only place that will carry those is a sewing machine store.

SOURCE: I have a white quilter's sewing machine, model

Hi, follow the instruction below to troubleshoot the foot pedal

  • Unplug the machine plug and wall plug on the sewing machine.
  • Check the power cord for cracks, burns, or faulty contacts as this could be a possible reason for the foot control not working.
  • Open the foot control by using a knife or flat surface tool, such as a flathead screwdriver, to pry open the corner of the foot control.
  • Check the wires to see if they are disconnected; this can happen if the foot control drops to the ground. To check wires, remove the circuit board using a flat knife. Inspect the wires inside the foot control. You will see some wires that are soldered together. Check to see if there are any broken wires, as this could be the problem. If the wire is broken, clean the area to remove any debris or dirt. Remove a small amount of the insulation before soldering. Solder wires together.
  • When you are done, reassemble the foot control and make sure it's working again.

Where can I get a pedal/power cord for a Morse model 5401?

Take your original power cord and foot control (or the machine) to a sewing machine repair shop and ask them if they have what you need. It is important that the plugs are compatible with what your machine has.

The pedal from the White Sewing 1888 machine no longer works. I have found a white sewing machine 1418 online- would the pedal from that machine work in the 1888 machine? Thanks. Look foreword to your...

The White 1888 uses the FDM KD-1902 foot pedal. I can't find a part number for the 1418 control. It looks like they should be compatible based on the control plug end though.

This site has a universal controller that claims to be compatible with both machines: http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/foot-control-and-cord-universal-419451-003.aspx .

Singer has the manuals for both White machines for download. The direct links are http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/1075_white-1418-x.pdf and http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/993_white-1788,1888-x.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Make Model parts

You can probably find one (perhaps sites like eBay) where there are generic parts. Just be sure to make sure the plug on the machine matches the plug on the cord you purchase. There are multiple shapes and designs of plugs available, so compare the pictures with your machine.

How do I turn on a white sewing machine model number 967

There is no switch to turn on the White 967 which was made by Brother, you may have a light switch either on the side of the faceplate or on the right hand side of the machine near the motor. The machine should be ready to go once plugged in.

Light dims when you sew

the problem is that the cord that was replaced on it is too light for the sewing machine. some companies sell cords that are made with 18awg wire 18awg wire can only deliver enough electricity to run the motor sapping up all of the power from the light as soon as you push the pedal. you need to get a cord made by singer or rewire your cords with 16awg wire... 16awg wire is the standard wire for all vintage singer sewing machines it keeps the light nice and bright...... hope this helps
