How do i clean the machine with the tablet - Jura Capresso Impressa E9 Espresso Machine & Coffee Maker

Cleaning tablet goes in the top of the machine in the opening just to the right of the bean hopper. Generally there is a little cover that you lift off and drop the tablet down the chute when prompted in the cleaning cycle.

I have a similar situation, although I have the cleaning tablets, once you insert one the display still asks for one and there is no "OK" to press as instructed in the booklet. I am on permanent hold with the display "please drop the cleaning tablet in the funnel for ground coffee" on the screen. So getting a tablet may not fix your problem, I doubt the machine can sense the presence or absence of one of these tablets anyway.

Amazon.com sells the descaling tablets as well as the cleaning tablets, Miele brand. Search on "Miele tablets" for example. Third party (non Miele) tablets are available but you might not want to risk using those in your $3K machine. If you search on "food grade grease" you can find a small tube of it that sells for about $8.

This is normal behavior for a Miele machine, it is a safety feature. You have to clean it.

Clean the machine normally by opening the machine up, removing the storage tray, and dropping the tablet down the ground coffee shoot and letting the machine lead you through the cleaning.

When you purchased your machine it came with a small cardboard box full of maintenance items and the instruction manuals. the cleaning tablets are the small white tablets,(about the size of an advil). The descaling tablets are much bigger,( the diameter of a soda can). You drop one of the cleaning tablets into the funnel where you put pre ground coffee. If you dont have any cleaning tablets you can get them from mieleusa.com, or by calling 800 843 7231

The large ones are your descaling tablets. they go in your water container when the machine tells you to put them in there. Your small tablets are brew unit cleaning tablets. they go in to the flap door under the ground coffee storage container in the top left of the machine. One cleaning tablet at a time when it tells to to start cleaning. Two descaling tablets at a time during descaling.

Open the preground coffee lid, drop a cleaning tablet in it, let it do it's tablet cleaning cycle. After cycle empty water out of tray and clean.

I cannot tell you why your tablet doesn't clean well not knowing your machine, but having tried several types and brands (liquid, tablet, powder) I have found that the powder cleans best in my machine. Maybe it is something to do with dissolving or your water is not hot enough --possibly tablets work best in certain machines and not others. I don't have any interests behind my advice, but Cascade Complete was the one recommended to me and has become what I use exclusively. But I am willing to try others as technology develops.

There are 2 different types of cleaning tablets. 1 is for descaling the boiler,
and the other is for cleaning the brewing system. You don't have a jura brewing system, so make sure that it is for descaling the machine before you use it.
