How do I reset the Over Crank light on my RES12 whole house propane generator. I replaced the battery yesterday The Exercisor has not been working properly either most likely due to the battery being "dead".

Over crank is failed to start, so not likely a dead battery. replace the battery and restart in manual at the generator. If it fails to start you will get over crank again. Look at the cause, is it trying to start, check fuel and regulator first

SOURCE: Same problem, generator kicked in after power outage,

At the point the transfer switchis suppose to transfer put a dc volt meter across terminals 23 and 194 in the transfer if you do not show 12VDC. Then you have a relay hanging upon the PCB board in the generator, need to replace board. If you are showing 12VDC and the switch is not transferring the problem is in the switch itself.

We have a koehler home generator runs off propane. The battery is fully charged but no lights on display panel and wont crank

Transfer switch must be cut out before you'll get any power at all to start it manually. Otherwise, just throw the main breaker off from the street power. That will start it automatically.

Can a sunny boy inverter work with a 10kv Generator?

First I assume that you thinking about kVa not KV? or you really have 10000 Volts generator?

why would you like to add inverter? Considering your setup there is no need for inverter.
the only way you need inverter is when you have dedicated battery bank. This way system would work this way. On sunny day you produce electricity to feed your house and charge battery bank using charger/inverter. Once solar panels atop producing electricity during night system automatically switches to inverter mode and you start using power from batteries. Once batteries goes low then generator kicks in and supply power to home and recharge batteries. Without dedicated batteries there is no use for inverter

I have a Kohler whole house Generator that starts and works fine but stops after a hour or two. It restarts fine but again stops after an hour. Oil is good, load is not excessive, propane fuel is...

possible sensors to check are
overheat sensor for the coolamt
time run sensor if fitted
oil pressure sensor
loose wiring connections
possible icing of the gas regulator because if excessive gas flow requirement
have a gas fitter check the air mixture settings for the engine

My 18RESL Kohler Propane Generator ran for 8.5 hours and shut down for overspeed. later it started up again and shut down for under frequency. Now it won't even turn over. Where do I start. I checked...

You have to reset it because it locked out on on under frequency. Just pullout the fuse on the control panel and then reinstall it a couple of seconds later. Now it will reset the fault codes. Hope that helps.

Millivolt Generator burnout

I would check the pilot orfice to make sure you have enough of a flame to heat up the generator. You can buy a orfice drill bit and drill it out one size. The pilot should hit the generator toward the center. You should be able to buy a new orfice for the pilot assembly from the place you bought your heater.
