no. you cant use that universal remote with their brand.
it uses a bunch of preprogrammed sets of ir codes in that remote.(the 4 or 5 digit code you enter only activates one of these sets)
and does not have one for their brand

you can get yourself a learning universal remote and program the keys to correspond with any ir code.you want tho (any button to any function on any device that uses ir (infra red))

Addressing Remote to DVD:

1.) Press and hold the clear AUX button until all mode lights light up.
2.) Release and AUX light will be blinking.
3.) Press 2 and enter the code. (Example: If the code is 639, enter 2639)
4.) Press pound (#)
5.) Try functions (Power, Volume, etc..) and see if it is working.
6.) If no function, repeat steps 1-4 with another code.

i need help with programing my Samsung tv

You can confirm your remote's IR output by pointing to the phone camera and if the remote works it will be seen as a flash on the camera. Now after confirming the remote then the the IR detector on teh TV can be checked. It is always mounted on the FRONT panel and is a small DIODE mounted to face the IR panel ****. It is easily seen and can be checked using a multimeter . In the Ohmn's range in one direction a flash of light will increase the flow and continuity when the probes are held across the diode. If teh IR is good then it is a fault on the processor controller.

The code for a universal remote, I used a Sky + remote is 1936. Switch tv on and not in standby, press Tv button on remove, press select and red button for 5 secs until you see the IR button flash twice. Enter 1936 code, the IR will flash again twice. Done. Test using remote on/ off button. This works for MATSUI TVR185 TS. If there is a PIN code, reset holding vol - on tv and holding number 7 on remote at same time. You will see a PIN OK message on screen.

I have seen this problem with this particular model of tv, Some remote models will just not program, you can try a power scan by holding down the sat button till all lights light up then release, type in 500 for the code and press #, then press SAT till all lights lite up again tehn press the big red power button and release. then press teh up arrow once every 2 seconds to manually go through all the codes. if your tv shuts off press # ( it can take up to a minute to do this) anything past a minute will do. if still no success then your remote is not compatible with the tuner in the emerson tv.

TRY NOT TO PUT MGNETS BY T.V

(I have the RX-V659). Because the Yamaha remote has TWO SEPARATE buttons - power ON and power OFF (standby). This problem can't be fixed. There's a code to choose power ON and another code for power OFF. But one button can't be two buttons. Bad engineering\ design by Yamaha in my opinion
