You probably need to replace the backlight. In parts less than 30$. If you know your way around these things, or know someone who does, it's not a super difficult thing to do. You can get a tutorial that's written for monitors here: http://www.inventgeek.com/Projects/shorts/lcdfix.aspx basically the same procedure for an LCD TV. Good luck!

Possible there is a disconnect with the main processing section as there is no signal present except the working of the backlight and display.
So it seems the main power to the mother board and the processor must be checked. Also if there is no raster or even OSD- on screen display then the processor must be checked.
Get help from Sony service if under warranty.

SOURCE: sceptre lcd tv color has gone negative

The fault is with its T'Con [Timing Control] board. This is the circuit board, that interfaces digital main board to LCD panel. There is no repair to this board, other than replacement. Contact any experienced service technician to replace it. If you have some knowledge in electronics, visit this site named 'Electro-help'. Check this link, and select the site. Pull up older posts there. General methods to replace T'Con board is described in detail.

This seems like a T-con board problem as its responsible for several picture functions including color convergence. Or it could be a bad LVDS cable (inside the TV) I can ship you a new T-caon board for $150.00 or take it too your local shop repair shouldn't cost more than $250.00....

My Sony Bravia KLV-32U300A 32 in. HDTV-Ready LCD TV just lost the picture. Just see different colors. Hears static sound from the back of the unit. This was a progression. Few days ago, clicking sound...

hi..It's probably a loose cable. The first one to check is the
green connection but make sure they're all tight. RCA cables
tend to pop out part way which is enough to stop the signal.
If the green signal is lost, you get no picture. If the red or blue
are lost, you get a picture with bad coloring.

If you still have the problem check this
LOOK in the back of the TV when you have it turned on. Look in the slots near the top for a white glow coming out of it.

IF you see it, you need your signal board replaced...

IF NOT, then you need your power supply board replaced...

Snowy, reddish, weird picture

If the menu and OSD are OK, that probably eliminates the panel and TCON board. That still leaves the A3U board which does all the switching and intial processing of the video signal and the B board which does final video process and panel drive. The is one simple way of narrowing it down: hook up a PC to the 15 pin VGA connector (make sure the PC is set for a 60 hertz refresh rate). If you can see the problem when using the computer input, it is most likely the B board. The B board is the most likely cause of video distortion problems. Please be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!
