Code e-29 on a EU6500IS stands for GCU (genarator control unit) internal failure or inverter unit internal failure .The cost on a GCU is around $480.00 and the inverter is around $1100.00. On the i-monitor press and hold the button for about 3 seconds and the display will show all the error codes (5 total) . Check if there's any other error codes .

You might also check the exhaust spark arrestor. Remove two screws on exhaust pipe, pull outer screen and then remove inner screen cone. Make sure it is clean. This just happened to mine. When it happened on my EU3000 the Honda dealer charged over 600 to "replace" it. Takes about 5 minutes.
