Is the keyboard split? I haven't heard of a split screen in iPad before. If it is the keyboard, just use 2 fingers to push the sides back together.

The button next to the .?123 in the right corner (see image attached) that looks like an icon of the keyboard itself is actually exactly for this issue. Press and hold this button and two options appear- undock and split. Undock will pull the keyboard halfway up the screen for this exact purpose, split will cut the keyboard in half like an ergonomic keyboard. I have a Zagg keyboard for my iPad mini. I found the same thing happened but then realized it only works in most apps, not all. For example it doesnt work when typing in a password in settings. Try you keyboard in an app like notes. Also make sure you haveheld down the power for long enough that the light is red for 5 seconds.

You have put the keyboard into split mode. You can split the iPad's keyboard in two by either tapping and holding on the 'toggle keyboard' button on the lower-right, or simply pulling the keyboard apart at the middle.


You can put it back to normal by pinching the keyboard back together or by tapping the button on the lower right.
