Some of those trucks had a heater coil in the fuel filter bowl. It would short out and blow the fuse . Try unplugging the wire just behind the bowl ,and replace the fuse again. that may fix the problem.

30 amp fuse blows every time i turn the ignition. 2002 f250 super duty 7.3ll. replaced starter, glow plug relay, starter relay. checked all wires and gounds. truck will start when i jump starter selenoid.

Double check "trigger" wiring from the solenoid back to switch, perhaps a power relay in between that might be bad. I'd polish to bright metal that old connection to the solinoid.

My truck wont start in the cold weather, could it be the glow plug relay?

Does it start when the outside temp is above freezing? if so then start with the relay also check the engine codes. Disconnect the negative terminal for 30 minutes. This will reset the diagnostic computer. Reconnect and attempt to start as usual.

1999 super duty 7.3 when cold takes 15 to 20 sec to start

Sounds like a glow plug issue. The glow plug relay located on the top of the engine near the fuel filter is a common cause of the problem.

I have a 1999 Ford F450 super duty diesel. It

Replace the glowplug relay. Its faulty. The glow plugs stay on until engine warms up.The engine temp switch then activates the relay to switch off.So it could be the temp switch also faulty.

1999 Ford F-450 7.3 diesel

It is most likely fuel heater in bottom of filter housing. Unplug it on backside of housing and reinstall good fuse and see if it quits blowing. If so, updated fuel heater availible through Ford.
