Hi
You probably have a multifunctional keyboard - so there is a key somewhere that is currently in its "on" state. It is usually located along the top or bottom of your keyboard and marked function / num.lock (numerical lock) or something similar.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: laptop keyboard is not working correctly

Accoring to the problem you have mentioned i am sure the keys are not connected properly. The tab key is connected on the Caps lock key. Moreover make sure you press the fn key to check for any changes as it is the key which helps you toggle in Laptop

SOURCE: acer aspire 3003wcli keyboard stopped responding

You probably activated the "Num Lock" accidently. Just hold down the FN and look for the key that says "num lock" Now you should have your keyboard back and the numbers will just type when you hit the numbers key. I did this to myself yesterday!

SOURCE: the keyboard on my laptop has numbers and keys on it

Hi,
It sounds like the Num Lock is on.

Depending on the make of the laptop there is a few different ways to turn it off.
Either just hit the Num Lock key and see if it goes off, hold down Fn and hit the Num Lock key or hold down the shift key and hit the Num Lock key.

Regards.

On my laptop alphabet keys uiojkl and m have numbers on them i dont know what i pressed but whenever i use the keyboard now it will only type the numerals that are on those keys instead of the letters...

please check for a the ( Fn) key which is found next to the left side ctrl marked by a blue colour. cleck to see if this is jammed as only by holding the fn key down will the alphabets change to numerical. If the fault is persisting again open your keyboards settings and check for default settings. Also try to reinstall the drivers or else restore you computer to an earlier good restore point by clicking on control panel, select back up /restore. I hope this clears your fault. Good day.

Half of the keys on my ee pc notepad dont work,

If numbers are showing up instead of letters, then your caps lock is on. Press Fn-F1 and that should fix it. However, if nothing at all is showing up, then you need to get a new keyboard. You can find them on ebay for relatively cheap, and the replacement process is fairly simple. I believe there are videos on youtube that can show you how to replace it. Hope this works!

When number lock is on half of keyboard types numbers so ''u'' is ''4''; ''i'' is ''5''; ''k'' is ''2'':etc etc

Yes because you accidentally pressed FN or NUMLOCK key
If you look closer at the keyboard, you'll notice that on U key is number 4 too

Half my keyboard prints lettersand the other half iopklm prints numbers i changed key boards and the new one is the same

What keyboard brand and model do you have?

I know for laptops that if you have the numlock on it changes those keys to type numbers. It could be the same for your desktop keyboard if it doesn't have a numpad at the right side.

Keyboard

Okay, if I am reading this right, you type but get numbers where there should be some letters? There should be a NUM LK key or such on your laptop keyboard. It may be sharing a key. Check around, its there (or something very very similar). Once you find it, you will have to hold down your "fn" key and then tap the NUM LK key. Now type a sentence that includes the letters that show up as numbers and see if there is a change. It could be that your Number Lock key is on. Let me know if this does not work so we can try something else.

Acer 3500 keyboard

Let me start from the top.

1: removing the keyboard: as near as I can tell, at the top of your keyboard is power button etc,.. this cover can be removed.
once removed, there are at least 3 screws under it, once those are out there are 2 more on the bottom. NOTE:
could be that like on my Compaq and IBM the proper keys on the bottem are denoted by a small etching of a keyboard.
It may not be neccesary to remove the keyboard, so if it ain't broke.. don't fix it.
2: Fixing this keyboard is possible IF by stuck you mean they stick but otherwise work. My IBM for example ( used by
my kids on occasion ) has had sticky substances dropped onto the keyboard. I simply removed the appropriate keys,
cleaned them with alcohol and re-seated them. CAUTION: Pay attention to how they come off so you can put them back on
and be careful not to break the plastic connectors.
In closing,.. if all else fails and after cleaning and re-seating the keys dont work, buy a new one. They aren't that expensive if
you look around. I won't put a website here for an on-line store that carries them,.. but do a google search you'll find several
places.
