Before you assume your timing is off, there is one more thing to try. Make sure that the flat part of your needle is towards the back of the machine, and especially make sure that the needle is all the way up. That can cause exactly the same problems.

If that is NOT the problem, you have two options. I would recommend that you let a technician fix it; you'll find that it is easy for him, but will be difficult for you.

The other option is to purchase the Service Manual for your machine; you can find it at Sewing Parts Online--no, I DON'T work for the company, but I buy a lot from them. I just did a search, and your service manual is in stock for $14.99. A very worth-while purchase, by the way.

I have a singer sewing machine 5932. it will not pick up its thread from bobbin. it will not sew. i have checked everything i know . i know a little about sewing machines.

Try installing a brand new needle. Confirm it is installed facing the correct direction in the machine. A bent/.damaged needle or one that is installed incorrectly frequently will not pick up the bobbin thread.

If you've confirmed it's correct and still doesn't pick up the bobbin thread, then it's likely the machine has been knocked out of time, ie the needle and hook are out of sync. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

Singer confidence 7467 bobbin thread issues

Have you checked that under the foot plate is clean sometimes a bit of fluff or thread collects there, and are you threading the needle the right way. check with the manual for the machine. Also check which way the manual recommends the bobbin thread is unwinding clockwise or anticlockwise. Hope this is helpful,

I cannot get the bottom thread to pick up. The top thread is fine and the bobbin is threaded and in place, but it will not stitch.

Generally, this is because your needle is bent. Even if it looks fine to the naked eye, it only has to be bent the slightest bit to cause a problem.

Try changing your needle. 9 times out of 10, this solves the problem.

Good luck!

Sewing machine will not stitch. The thread goes into the material but does not make a stitch. I've changed the needle, cleaned the bobbin, rethread the bobbin and the top thread.??????????????

Is this the first time you have used the machine? If so you need to bring up the bobbin thread by hand before stitching. Only when both bobbin and top threads are up through the needle plate nad pulled towards the back of machine, will the machine form a stitch.
