Since you didn't specify, I'm taking a guess it's making noise only when you're driving it, not when sitting an operating the bucket or aux. hydraulics. You have to describe the noise, is it a whine, groan, high or low pitched, grinding, crushing marbles, what? Describe the sound.

My Dodge Grand Caravan is making a humming noise as you accelerate, while turning left it stops but gets worse while turning right. I replaced the left front wheel hub and no improvement, I need help

if hub bearing replacement did not fix the noise

when noises are on left and right turns
that has CV joints /drive shafts
would say they are the issue
replace both sides

and replace the left hand hub bearing at the same time

Left wheel makes noise has it turns ?

sounds like a wheel bearing or axle shaft to me. A wheel bearing will grind or roar or groan. An axle shaft will click or pop. Both repairs will require you to dismantle the front wheel hub, separating the lower control arm from the steering knuckle. A front wheel alignment will probably be needed following the repair. A good mechanic can knock this out in a couple of hours, a shadetree might take all weekend.

Is there a bearing or bushing on the shaft that the left axle slides onto on a 1999 Bonneville se?

i have been fooled by this one way to many times. when a wheel bearing or hub assesembly is making noise, it will sound like it is comming from the other side. i do not know why this is. but one test will prove if and which one. when growling noise occurs, notice, when turning left or right, does noise get louder and quieter as you turn? if so then it is wheel bearing. when turning left the right side will make more noise. when turning right the left side will make more noise. if always the same then, tires or transmission need addressing. the cv axle does not make a growling noise, unless front wheel drive car does not move, it makes a clicking or poping noise. sorry but at least you dont have to replace other axle

Whining noise progressively gets louder with speed

One wheel turning faster than the other is normal if both wheels are off the ground. If one wheel is dragging when the other wheel is on the ground, it could be brakes or a wheel hub bearing.
Usually if the noise happens on right turns, the left hub bearing is failing, and vice versa.

Thumping, grinding noise comes from right front side

most likely a front hub [wheel bearing ]going bad but jack up front side that is causing problem and try to move tire in and out with hands at top and bottom of tire and listen and feel for noise or excess movement it to much movement remove tire an check the upper and lower ball joints as well as the shock/strut but check brakes grinding can also mean pads are metal to rotor but usually grinding and thumping is related to a bad hub

Gear type noise when driving.noise changes with speed of car.stops when car is not moving.2000 pontiac gran prix

Hi, if this noise changes when turning left or right, (gets louder or quieter), there is a good chance a front hub is bad. For instance, if you turn right, and the noise gets louder, the left hub is bad, and vice versa for the other side. You can normally jack it up, spin the wheel and hear the noise, or wiggle the wheel, and see if it has play. Good luck...

I replaced my right front drive shaft or axle a week ago because there was a constant clicking noise coming from the front left side, after replacing the clicking stopped for a day and now its clicking...

the hub assembly is most likely bad its the bearing inside thats moving making the clicking noise it moves out and touches the rotor making the brake pad move and click

When im driving about 20 miles per hour on the drivers front there is a vibration and grinding sound what could be this problem

Lots of things can do this. Check your front hub bearings by jacking up the vehicle and turning the tire by hand. Or if you are using a commercial lift, let the wheels rotate with the engine running and the trans in gear.

Last week one of my clients had a similar problem. On his SUV, he changed the left front hub to no effect. He then changed the right hub to no effect. The problem was the front U-joint on the front driveshaft of the 4x4. It sounded like a left side noise but was actually coming from the center of the SUV and it vibrated and felt like a left side vibration.

Since Hub bearings are known to fail, they are worth checking. You do have other moving parts in the front drivetrain. A grinding sound can also generate from the rear Emergency brakes, as the shoes inside the rotors rust, the linings fall off and get eaten by the moving parts. Its also possible to have a floating front brake pad. with the loose pad separated from the metal backing and skipping on the side of the rotor. There is not enough room for the pad to fall out completely.

I hope my solution helps you find your problem.

I seem to have a growling(noise is whup-whup-whup)-gets worse the faster you go noise coming from the front driver side.I initially thought it was the cv joint, but after replacement the noise is still...

Sounds like a bad hub bearing. If you sway from one side to another the noise should change. If you go left and the noise and the noise is still there then it`s the right side and if you turn right and the noise is still there it is the left side. You may also have both front hub bearings out.Hope this helps.Good luck.

03 Trailblazer Front End Noise/Vibration

I had similar problem with my 03 trailblazer. It had a low dull hum in the front end with a little vibration being felt in gas pedal. Noise increased over a couple weeks and was louder turning to the left and quiter turning to right. A GM mechanic friend of mine replaced the front right hub and took care of the problem. Hub was about $160 at Autozone.
