You have the wrong number model. The model number is not DVR9OVF.... It is DVR9OVE. I have the same problem. I called the 800 number because I buaght a 50 pack of dvd's at Office Depot (Ativa Reg. $29.99 GREAT SALE PRICE FOR $9.99)and it gave me an error "disk is not recordable" E24. They told me this dvd supports a limited dvd disk brand....Maxell, Memorex, TDK, JVC, and Sony, so I am returning them to the store. I know Sony does work because I used those before.

WILL NO LONGER PLAY DVD COMPATIBLE MOVIES. IT ONCE WORKED FINE, NOW ALL I GET IS THIS ERROR MESSAGE
"Disc Error, Play back feature may not be available on this disc."
Same problem worked fine for awhile. Has very low hour usage on it. I have cleaned the disk several times. Once in about 10 attempts it will play the video. Piece of junk!
I keep getting error code 4 when trying to record to a DVD. It took 5 blank discs to finally get it to work. It's hit or miss and lately, more misses than hits. I contacted Sylvania and all they had to offer was for me to try cleaning it so I tried that but it did not help. This is the last Sylvania I buy!
I can't get mine to recognize the disk anymore. It won't let me play or format a disk. Looks like I'm stuck with 200 2x disks and an expensive anchor.
