There could be so many different things that cause the problem. Service cost a lot of Money and I can think of about ten different reasons why the ice maker isn't doing it's job. If I was there I know I could find the reason. Like poor air circulation around the ice maker, restrictions in the water flow to the maker, low freezer temp., door gasket leakage, etc. It may be more cost effective to purchace a new fridge with the features you want and need. I will continue to research this if you like. Hope this helps.

Under the right side of the fridge in the back there is a dual valve for water and ice. Try changing it out, most likely the ice side is not working. Make sure you unplug the unit first

Colenoid in the ice dispenser may be clogged or have a small amount of trash in it. Is there a filter on before the fridge (just after the ice maker shutoff)?

I have had a similar problem several times. What I have found is that the ice tray coating has begun to flake off. Then, the ice sticks or partially dumps. Next more ice builds up and when the valve opens the water runs over the partially emptied tray and spills into the bin making "icebergs". The remedy is to replace the tray or if that is not possible, then, the whole icemaker. In fact, I have one down stairs to put in tomorrow. They don't seem to last more than about 4 years or so.
