SOURCE: I need to repair my washing machine Model KAWE577BWH1

To remove the cabinet safely, the washing machine should be turned off and unplugged. Next take out the control panel by removing the screws. Also take out the spring clips which are situated in the corners and after doing that remove the harness that is connected to the lid switch wiring. Pull the lid and also keep a hand on the cabinet opening that shows itself when you open the lid. Furthermore adjust the cabinets position and then pull the lid and the cabinet opening. It should be removed now.

SOURCE: kenmore washer 70 series #11020722990 how to open

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.20722990&pathTaken=partSearch

and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Newer model Whirlpool / Kenmore washers use a Lid Switch as a safety device. Unless the switch senses that the lid on the washer is closed, the washer will neither agitate nor spin.

Older models only used the switch during the spin cycle.

Try to bypass the Lid Switch by removing the Console and jumping the two outermost pins on the switch.

This is a Whirlpool PDF on how these washers operate. It has a diagram on jumping the switch as well as a detailed section on how the transmission works.

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

It also has a troubleshooting guide.

To bypass the switch, you only have to disconnect the power to the washer, tilt the console back, unplug the switch and using an short piece of insulated wire, jump the two outermost contacts on the connector coming from the console and plug the washer back in.

Following is a description of how to gain access to the console and how to remove the cabinet if necessary.

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131&osCsid=913ba652cd504fb162f87d892bcb427b

With the jumper in place, try to re-start the washer.

If it works, the Lid Switch is a relatively inexpensive part and only requires you to access the console and remove the cabinet.

How do I replace the bottom socket where the door hinge slides in

I assume you mean the hinge that is on the cabinet and not the door? If its the door part that has failed, you will need to get a new door. If its the cabinet hinge, some of these are screwed onto the cabinet from underneath the fridge. Others however, are mounted inside the cabinet and are not really designed for replacement. Ive fixed a few over the years on different brands where the plastic hinge has broken but it can be a bit messy. The cabinet needs to be carefully peeled or bent back on the bottom corner of the fridge to access where the hinge is mounted. Unscrew the hinge and if you are lucky, the Manufacturer has these as a spare part. If not, the only way is to go to a hardware or cabinet parts store to try and source something that will suffice. Do NOT be tempted to put a normal gate or door hinge onto the fridge door and screw it onto the cabinet. Inside the cabinet especially around the edges are whats called "mullion heater" pipes or in older fridges, mullion elements. If you screw through a pipe, you will lose the gas and fridge will be shot. If you screw through an electrical mullion heater, there is a danger of electrocution.

How to open the enclosure???

Many speaker enclosures are glued together - this helps prevent vibrations of cabinet panels. Many panels are made of particle board, covered with a simple veneer. Disassembling the enclosure would likely be destructive.

The best way in, turns out to be via the largest driver - or woofer. The woofer is the largest speaker in the cabinet and is usually held in place by 4 screws. It can be removed without (or with only minimal) damage to the cabinet after removal of the screws with a screwdriver. Use of a battery operated screwdriver is discouraged due to the possibility of stripping the holes in the particle board. Once the screws are out, you might need to gently pry the outer edge of the woofer's metal frame from the cabinet with a small screwdriver to separate them.

Be prepared for the speaker to come spilling out of the cabinet. Wires on the speaker - if to be disconnected - should labeled as to which terminal they are connected - so the speaker will be in phase when reconnected. All wires to be disconnected should be labeled first! You may find filler material (looks like a thick fiberglass blanket) and crossover components (coils & capacitors) along with the additional wires between the crossover components and other speakers in the cabinet. Be careful to not accidentally disconnect wires from the internal components if you need to remove the filler material.

These are tips for opening most speaker cabinets - yours may differ slightly. Hopefully, this helps. Please rate this reply - thanks!

Hello there i have a mackie srm 450 speaker system and im not getting any high end tweeter sounds just bass only what coule be the problem manay thanks Paulie

The most common cause of this is a blown horn. A replacement can be ordered from Mackie directly. Remove the screws that hold the plastic horn in place. At the rear of this part will be the tweeter assembly that unscrews from the horn. This needs to be replaced.

Another possibility is that the tweeter driver has broken from the horn itself and is inside the cabinet. Remove the horn and you may find that the aluminum part has broken. Replace the horn which comes with that part and you should be fine.

How do i open the speaker to reconecct the wires inside?

It may not be only wires loose; the speaker(or speakers) may be damaged.

The common 'dynamic' speaker has a centered magnet in an assembly that extends the field of the magnet around a coil of wire on a form called the 'voice coil' that is firmly attached to the cone which moves in and out to 'pump' air and produce sound.
The clearances (gap) between the magnet assembly and the voice coil that sits in a narrow space between the magnet and the outer field piece is very small and critical.

Once positioned in the factory, glue is used to keep the field assembly from slipping and rubbing against the voice coil.

A strong shock will break the glue bond and, if severe enough, clamp the voice coil so it cannot move freely any more.

Since the Bose is a quality product, the cabinet may be assembled with glue and screws that are concealed.

If you know someone with a simple multimeter, they may be able to check at the terminals to see if there is any continuity from the terminals to the speaker.
If it doesn't have any, then perhaps only a wire is broken between the terminals and the speakers.
There is with high probability also a filter inside that separates the frequency range and sends the signal to separate speakers that produce different ranges of sound.

Broken hinge

Take the scanner lid off by squeezing the plastic hinges inserted into the back of the cabinet.
Take the top hinge of the cartridge door off with the 2 tork screws holding it, using a small screw driver.
Go to a hardware store & pick up a pair of cabinet hinges no more than 2". (You need to buy a pair because they do not come separate)
Place the new cabinet hinge on the back to the right of the bottom hinge of the base cabinet. Mark holes, drill one top, in the door, & 1 bottom cabinet, pilot holes. Check alignment & insert screws.
Tighten the bottom screws. Leave a little slack in the top screws as they have to be a little off set to close completely. You will only need to open this Cartridge door to change cartriges, so, no sweat.
My cost was under $5 for a pair of brass hinges, & my time, about an hour, taking my time.
It's too bad HP won't supply their offset hinges. They are inexpensive & easy to replace.
I've had my unit for exactly 4 years now, so this fix is a lot cheaper than buying a new one. Besides, I have ink already purchased that does not fit new printers.....go figure....
Aloha.
