Chimes are usually set from inside the bell-push, so that you can have multiple bell pushes and different chimes for each one.

Craftmade CA3-RC Artisan Door Chime

AC is likely to be the alternating current supply from the transformer.

I suspect two pairs of AC terminals are provided to allow one of two different chimes to be selected with one pair and the common being used for the 4 chime pattern and the other pair and common used for the 8 chime pattern.

The front, side and rear terminals are self explanatory connections from each bell-push with the supply (or return) or other wire from each bell push connected to the COM or common.

The manufacturer's website doesn't feature a wiring diagram though might send you an instruction book on demand. The site does include a note specifying only 18 gauge wire is to be used...

D641/BLR DOOR CHIME CHANGE CHANNELS

Open the back of the door chime and the button press.

On the back of both of them there is a set of jumpers.

From left to right there are 6 available frequencies. You need to grab to jumpers to join 2 of the pins together (top and bottom pin). If you don't have a jumper just use a set of pliers and cross the 2 pins together (top and bottom pins) on a channel you wish to use. Repeat the process for the button press if you've just done the door chime. The 2 pins that you've joined together needs to be the same as you've just done for the door chime.

Note the red jumper on the button press, selects the type of door chime you want to hear. this is the 4 right hand side pins on the button press. The far right is a long chime and second in from the far right is a shorter chime.

Hope this helps, figured it out by trial and error. :)

Will my wireless bell push work with another manufacturers door chimes?

Doubtful they are compatible. If they are set by dip switches and you set them the same bot doesn't work-not compatible.

Phantom bell rings on Siemens wirreless door bell chime jsjs-204, I do not have instructions

You may need to change the frequency of the chime. In this model, you need to remove the batteries from the receiver unit and wait for a while. Then replace the batteries. The doorbell unit should automatically set itself to a different frequency once you press the button, which will(hopefully) solve the problem.

It seems impossible to find the instruction manual for the doorbell. But see http://oddsnsods.net/blog/?p=68 who had a similar problem with a different Siemens model, which works on the same principles. (I can't seem to be able to remove the battery from the door bell unit on the jsjs204, but it reset itself after changing the batteries in the receiver).

Sandra, the contacts in bell push may need cleaning, as well as some minor readjustment of the contacts. Insects love to get into the bell push and can clogged it up. If you find that this doesn't solve the problem, Contact the Zenith Company 800-858-8501 to purchase a replacement.

Why does chimes sound when no one as pressed bell

water can get into the button on door inside is a spring that pushes a part of the switch away from the other and when someone presses it they join together and bell sounds but if the rain gets inside it can make an electrical connection between the two points open it up and see if there is any trace of water the just put a bit of pva glue over the top join on the switch it will water proof it and will also be easy to remove or it could be a low battery or if mains anything can set them off mobile phones tv any thing that sends a rf signal its best to have as small a gap as possible between the two units

From User Guide: Interference from a similar unit operating nearby: a) simply remove the batteries from the push button and door chime units and rest for 10 seconds, this will erase memory b) Insert the batteries into the push button and door chime units, the door chime unit will give 2-beeps to indicate that it is ready for the new registration code. Press the Push Button once, it will generate a new operation code randomly and send a wireless ignal to the door chime unit and it will sound to indicate that new operation code is registered and memorised.
(Note with this unit SX85R the door chime is mains powered, not battery powered, but above instructions are the same)
