Change the batteries first. Then see if you can turn on the TV using the buttons on the TV. If the TV still works then best get a universal remote. I really like my Harmony brand.

Ur free air DTV converter box have problem taking in the programs codes belong to ur tv,belong to the remote.Turn the converter box off/on to reboot ur DTV converter box.Read ur owner manual,re enter ur tv codes,belong to ur tv.U tv should be up and running again.
hmmm.. Do you have another remote that will operate that tv, try that remote and see if it will turn on and off the tv. IF you bought this new remote because your old one quit working it may be the tv and not the remote. If you have a camera phone you can check your old remote. Turn on your camera and aim the remote at your phone, look at the picture on the phone and press the power button on the remote, you shuld see the front of the remote flash, if you do then it is the tv causing your issue.
I press the tv button on rca remote and it wont stay on, tryed holding tv button and entering code but power button flashes twice and turns off. Entered last number and nothing happed, cant find any other help.
When the timer light stoped flashing the remote control would not turn on the TV. The next time the light quit flashing I held the power button in on the TV for about 5 seconds and it came on and has had no problems since then with the remote or the local TV power button.
yes they do go bad. try cleaning the inside of the remote and check for a bad solder connection with-in the remote. the key pad can get dirty from your handling maybe a good cleaning but do not scrub it just lightly touch the pad with cue tip and alcohol
