My brother sewing machine keeps showing error message E1, but there is nothing wrong with the foot controller or presser foot. What else could it be?

I have ensured the foot controller was connected properly and the presser foot was lowered.

How to resolve the E 1 error on a brother 6000i sewing machine. the Presser foot will not lower. I opened the machine but I need instructions on what to do next.

An "E1" message appears on the panel. The foot controller was pressed (or the start/stop button was pressed if the foot controller is not connected) and the reverse/reinforcement stitch button was pressed while the presser foot is raised. Lower the presser foot lever before continuing the operation.

Hi.
You can get the E1 error if the presser foot is not down. If you use the walking foot attachment it can keep the foot from coming all the way down.

An "E1" message appears on the panel. Description: The foot controller was pressed (or the start/stop button was pressed if the foot controller is not connected) and the reverse/reinforcement stitch button was pressed while the presser foot is raised.

Lower the presser foot lever before continuing the operation.

Persistent E1 message

some machines have a presser foot sensor or switch which prevents the machine sewing if the foot is not down.

if your presser foot is down and you still cannot sew the switch or switch actuator is most likely damaged. you will require a tech to repair this.
