It is all done through you computer. You will need to go to you printers and faxes bution on the start minu then click on it it should then pop up a window tha should display you printer. The left click on that and go to printing preferences then look for a opsion where you can change what paper tray to use and once you change it clik on apply then ok.

HP photosmart 8100 will not print from photo tray of picture online, only main tray. IT WILL PRINT from photo tray when I print selected photos from a camera card, so problem is not with the tray or...

It probably don't support that function via the internet... or it may just be a setting your missing by default its not going to use the more expensive paper for internet printing although for a camera card it would because odds are your printing pictures from a Camera Card.... so in short no you didn't mess anything up its just a matter of settings or worst case put the internet photo on the camera stick and print it that way...TAA DAA

Hp c6180 won't print from 4x6 photo paper tray

If you put regular paper in the tray as it is asking does the printer use the regular paper to print the picture? If so, be sure the 4x6 photo paper tray (with photo paper) is pushed all the way in, and when you select print there should be an option (probably hidden in a submenu) to select the photo tray as the paper source. If you are printing from Adobe Acrobat, I have not found a reliable way to get the c6180 to use the photo paper tray. I hope this helps.

I am trying to print from the photo tray of my HP

Hello Michelle,

You have to go into your print settings of the application in use and select "Paper Type/Quality", then from the drop down menu you will see "Source" as an option, from there select "PHOTO TRAY".

Will not print photo from main tray

The printer will automatically select the "Print Quality" Media based on its driver settings or the device settings.

You will need to access the properties of your printers software to assure that you have selected photo paper for the tray you wish.

Depending on which model of printer your using, you may have to access the Settings/Options/Page Setup/Tray Setup Menu. Consult your Owners Manual for settings these Tray options. Make sure you have set the tray you wish for Photo Paper (or comparable quality option)

My HP C7200 printer won't print from the photo tray

If you using a mac: After choosing the Photosmart C7200 to print your file on the print preview, change PAPER SIZE to 4x6, then lower down, change from PREVIEW to PAPER TYPE/QUALITY, more options will open underneath, on SOURCE, change from MAIN TRAY to PHOTO TRAY. You should also change the PAPER TYPE to some kind of PHOTO PAPER (whichever one your using, but the standard seems to be HP ADVANCED PHOTO PAPER)

Photos in Mac's iPhoto will not print from the photo paper tray. They always print on paper in the main paper tray (this is on an HP C7280 printer). I had an HP Photosmart 8250 and it was the same with...

This is an older post, but it appeared to be unanswered. In iPhoto once a photo is selected, you hit "Print" at the bottom right. A preview screen with options comes up. Once the correct options there are chosen, you need to hit print again - but it does not print yet. Instead a second "Print" window opens. In the middle of this window there is an "iPhoto" button with arrow buttons on the right. The arrow buttons open a drop down menu. Choose "Paper/Paper Quality" from that menu, and it will give you a button for "Source." The arrow buttons on the right of the "Source" button allow you to choose "Photo Tray."
Once it's changed, you don't need to redo it each time you print an additional photo, since iPhoto reverts to "Last Used Settings." But as a shortcut for future sessions, you can save these settings using the "Preset" button located at the top of the second "Print" window (the window where the "iPhoto" button is located). I used "Photo Tray" in the description so it would be obvious, since I don't print pictures every day.

Photo Paper Feed

hi,

the issue that you have might need to change some settings from the printing properties. WHen you hit on PRINT, a box will open, right? look on the top right of that box, you will see "PROPERTIES" or "Preferences" just click on it, then another box will open. Click on Printing Shortcuts tab, try to review the settings. And if you want to print using the main tray, it should set it to Automatic select or Main tray. And make sure that it sets to General Printing. But if youre going to print a photo, you will have options there to choose what type of paper when you click on that, the settings on the paper size, paper source, etc. will change also. For paper source, make sure that it sets to Photo Tray.

If you will be able to open printing preferences, all options are there, you just need to read and choose which settings you want to use.

Thank you so much.

Mac Leopard OS: Can't print from photo tray

Here's the trick. It took me an hour to figure this puzzle out myself. DO NOT select the Print icon at the bottom of iPhoto. Do NOT select Print from the File menu. DO select EXPORT from the File menu. Select the HP Photosmart Mac tab Select HP Photosmart Print.app from the app selector. Click the Export button. HP Photosmart Print.app will load with a new print dialog box. Make all necessary selections. This is where you can select the Photo Tray as the tray for the printer to take paper from. This solved MY problem! Let us know if this helps you!

Will not go to photo tray to print 4X6 picture

This is why Mac's are EVIL!!!! LOL, anyway try using the software, that comes with the printer, and tell it which paper type, and tray to use. Also try printing on a PC, and see if it works then, as you may have to live with this as the solution.
