New blades are sold at both Home Depot and Lowes, and probably also at Sears.

To sharpen the blade use a wetsone to buff off any burrs and then a metal file to just touch up the edge. It won't need much work at all.

SOURCE: Ryobi 18V Hedge Trimmer Blade Question

I use a dremel with a sharpening stone, if u don't have one you can also use a power drill with a small sanding disk (1 inch) and course sand paper (30 or 40 grit). or you can use a bastard file. its too tight to use any kind of angle guide so just take your time and do it by eye. it shouldn't take much to get them sharp enough to do the job, over-sharpening is unnecessary and dangerous, and will make the blades dull faster. sharpen all the free blades, top and bottom, then start the trimmers to advance the blades to free up the sides you couldn't get. i use a light penetrating oil to clean the blades first, then lithium grease spray to lubricate.

Ihave a craftsman ridding mower model #917.289900 new belt for the deck new blads it still leaves miss cut in the middle anybody know why?

usually if its missing cut it's not rotating fast enough, or the other thing it can be the blades have not been sharpened. some companies that make blades don't sharpen them so they can be handled, it will have a leading edge and you need a sharpening stone to put a cutting edge on the blade. and the blade has to be put in the right way round. flate top cutting edge bottom.

Brand new andis trimmer pulling hair and not cutting good

The questions about Andis T-Outliner or Andis Styliner II, about not cutting or pulling hair.
On the Andis T-Outliner trimmer if the sharpness of the blade is worn out, all the tricks and treats won't make this blade to cut hair. Before I do any kind of work to the trimmer, I first test the coil for the right amount power, I can get out of the coil, without this power, it doesn't matter how new or old the trimmer is, the trimmer will not cut hair at all. If the coil is good, I will sharpen the blade and set it according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) after the blade is sharpened and set. The trimmer will need to be, adjusted for alignment to the blade, adjust the power of the coil, and adjust the tension for the blade. All these factors are involved in the Andis T-Outliner to cut hair clean especially lineups or shaving. These adjustments work together for the trimmer to work properly. I know that we all trying to save money, which is part of life, but sometimes frustration will take over and say hell with it, I'll buy another or forget it. Manufactures make mistakes, sometimes the trimmer was not sharpened or adjusted correctly. Any case, what I'm trying to say here, if you try all the tricks & treats and can get your trimmer to work, it may be easier for you to send it to a professional to sharpen & repair the problem and set the blade according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) We specialize on Andis T-Outliner Trimmers. Our complete sharpening & repair service is $19.99 each trimmer, this includes return shipping. Clippers not cutting

It is not unknown for a sharpen to be no good, anyone can turn out a bad sharpen. Look for correct blade assembly, check that there is sufficient pressure holding the blades together, check there is no missing stroke. Check the blade is secure and not wobbling. If the above are OK I would buy a new blade. You could also return the blade with the clipper for the sharpener to test for themselves.

I have just had all the blades sharpened for my clippers but they won't cut my dog's fur. Never had a problem before. Can you please help?

It is common to that a Blade Sharpening Service return your blades just as blunt as before, or even worse.
I advise that you try a new Blade Sharpening Service; trying out only a couple blades to begin with.
I recommend a mobile/on-site sharpening service.

Sometimes the new blades from Andis are not sharpen enough to get that clean cut. also all trimmers need to be readjusted for power and alignment, plus sharpening the blade, it look like you need a complete sharpen & service on your Andis trimmer. check out Manny's Sharpening they have a Mail Order service, the service they provide is fast and they will sharpen make all the adjustment and give your trimmer more power and the blade will cut clean. My Bernette 203 will not cut the material or thread. I need to know the correct placement of the cutting knives.

First to see if the top blade is pressing against the lower blade when it goes past to make the cut.
You should be able to push the top blade to the right and have it spring back to the left. Do that to see if there is a small amount of presser on the lower blade.

Next, the cutting part of the top blade should drop just under the lower blade buy about 2 mil.

Also the lower blade should be level with the needle/stitch plate.

Blades also may need sharpened. The top one can be done with just about any sharpening tool but the botom is carbide so you will need a dimond wheel to sharpen it

Hope this helps

Hi, used a blade sharpener for my a2 horse clipper blades and they are still blunt. Do i sharpen between the teeth

no . The blades are sharpened by grinding away the base of the wear until the edges between the teeth are sharp. It also necessary for the tension between the cutting blades is correct other wise the cutting teeth ride up over the hair and will not cut. Have a person who does sharpening of knives ,scissors and blades sharpen the clippers for you as the machine will get it right.

Blades are not cutting

hi, yes blades can wear out but your sharpener should advise if there is a problem with them. check to make sure the clipper is moving your blades and your blade cannot be removed without depressing the latch. If your are experiencing tram lines with larger blades then it is more likely to be a clipper problem. However if your blades just wont cut i would recommend a new sharpener as it is a specialist area.

My Blender knives don't cut good anymore, what should i do?Can they be changed?or should I buy a new one?

Hello,
Do you mean blender blades?
Either way, your blender blades/knives need to be sharpened.
This is the key to making your blender last a long time.
You may need to reach into the unit to sharpen them if the blade part doesn't twist off.
Good luck :)
