here is the website for the manual. when you download it go to the maintance section and it will let you know. if not. basically all you have to do is turn off your unit first. take the base and the tank off take out the wick filter disgard and put in new one. put everything back and turn on unit. and it should would like new
well since you just purchased this item, you should be able to return it for exchange, and it should still be under warranty, but if thats not doable, then it sounds to me like its a O-ring that is bad if the tanks are removable, best bet though is to exchange it, look at your home owners paperwork, to see about the warranty, more than likely your covered, hope that helped, mr.grzz
