Question about Viking Dishwashers

THERE ARE NO CLOGS ANYWHERE IN THIS DISHWASHER VUD141-SS. EVERY AREA HAS BEEN CHECKED FOR POSSIBLE FOR CLOGS. DISHES ARE CLEAN AND THE WATER CYCLES FINE. HOWEVER WHEN THE TIMER REACHES THE CYCLE WHERE THE WATER SHOULD BEGIN DRAINING FROM THE VIKING IT JUST KEEPS WASHING AND THE TIMER REMAINS WHERE IT IS. WHAT IS WRONG??? DO I HAVE A BAD DRAIN PUMP, OR IS IT SOMETHING ELSE???

Yes the drain pump should start at this point so I would suspect a faulty drain pump,But try a reset first push and hold power button until lights reset then try a cycle if this fails to fix problem then I would suspect the drain pump.adrian,,,,,

hi paula.
Insufficient water in the dishwasher also can cause poorcleaning. If the float gets stuck in the raised position, thedishwasher won't fill with water (Photo 3). Another likely cause is a clogged inlet screen or faulty inlet valve. ... To determine if your dishwasher is getting enough water, start a wash cycle.

Try manually adding water to the dishwasher. If it works then the water valve is just clogged. Sometimes it gets full of gunk and the machine will take in water but not enough to run properly. It is in the upside down cup shaped thing on the bottom left front. The other possibility is the Cam/Timer. It is in the door right behind the dial. This is the part that triggers all the different actions.
If when you add water it doesn't work then the valve or the solenoid on the pump assembly is likely done.

First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. The dishes are not coming out clean, how do i fix the dishwasher so that it works at full efficiency?

Check the rinse aid setting is according to the user manual. Also use longer cycles for better wash results. Make sure the proper salts are used if you are in hard water area.

If problem is not resolved then buy Finish dishwasher cleaning kits from super market and run each drawer on long cycle with kit located in it according to instructions.

Hope this helps. Please rate this solution to help fixya help you better in future.

You probably have a leak, in the pump housing area below the unit, which is causing the drain pump to run continuously.

Viking VUD141 advances through the cycles but won't drain water

The unit should be installed with a high loop in the drain line at the rear of the unit. If this is not in place it can cause the drain water to run back into the unit. If there is a partial blockage it could result in incomplete drain. Try disconnecting the drain line below the sink and run the unit to drain into a bucket see how it drains. would be a sign as to how free your drain line is.

It could also have defective drain pump

Check the motor pump housing for an obstruction on the impellor. Impellors can go bad and not actually churn the water around the way they are supposed to.
