I think I have a similar problem:HP PSC 1610 always printed till I installed Mac OS X 10.6. also does not digitalize since I downloaded: HP_Installer_PSC1600_v9.7 An error apears about a missing extention ? ? ? ? Carlos Moniz
1. click a text file to print 2.on the drop down menu for printer select printer (there may several listed) 3.if printer not shown then click "add printer" 4.locate your printer model and install 5. This may require you to go to the manufacturer site to download the updated drivers. 6. check the Printer installation manual for step by step instructions Located on the CD that came with the printer.
Sounds like a communication error somewhere between the printer and your hardware. You might need to update the driver. Go to the manufacture's website and put the model number of your printer in to get the latest driver. There might also be a driver specifically for your Mac there.
