Use the delete button to erase e-mails. Sometimes, if you have more than one tab open in e-mail. The older tab will continue to show your messages. Be sure you only have one e-mail tab open when deleting files.

Why can't i delete emails?

This can happen if you use outlook, or a similar program, and have "keep a copy of my emails on the server" checked. It downloads your email from the server, but leaves copies of all of them there. When you delete your emails, they are gone on your computer, but it downloads again once you get online, since the computer sees it as a new mail, and not the old one you got rid of. If you don't want to change your settings on the mail program, them sign on to the online version of your email (www.gmail.com or whatever server you go through), and delete them there, and then when you delete them from your program, you won't have them reappearing.
