Improper voltage / burnt wires, bad element, or bad thermostat or clock / control. These 3 things should be checked in that order

I had similar issue with my electric stove as well. The model of the stove is the same as the one that us mentioned above on the beginning of the this discussion. The issue I had on my stove was that the display shows time and no error code how ever the oven top light indicator comes on but the oven won't heat up. Here are the steps I took to fix the issue: First I unplugged the stove and used a multimeter to verify that it has 240Volt coming. It checked good for 240v. Second, I opened up the terminal on the stove where the plug connects, there I discovered one of the hot leg has melted and broken thus only 120v getting to the stove. I repaired the broken wire and verified 240v coming in the stove and stove was fixed for good. I further investigated what caused the wire to melt and broken, my finding was exposed hot wire shorted to the stove body (ground). Hope this helps. Thanks for reading

Oven not heating properly

most common problems:
1. calrod unit not working(heating element) easy replacement
2. breaker tripped.(sometimes a double breaker will only trip one of the circuit breakers so you end up with half power)
good luck

Whirlpool Gold Electric convection oven does not heat up.

Check for a broken wire or even broken element on top and bottom of unit. To do this, the unit must be unplugged or otherwise removed from power completely, then remove the screws that hold each heating element in place and gently pull out and inspect the wire connections. You should have just enough slack to check them. There should also be just enough slack to strip the wire clean to make the new connection to the heating element.

If the repair has been done before, you may need to fish a new lingth of high temp wire into the location.

Element broke, replaced, now oven heats very slowly and only up to 255

This is a symptom of only having 120 VAC power to the oven. When your other element borke it is possible that it tripped only ONE Circuit Breaker. Try resetting the Range CB in the main power panel by physically pushing BOTH breakers to off and then back to on. Then test the range to see if it heats correctly. Let me know the result please.

Also if the problem persists respond with your model number so I can look up a wiring diagram.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Oven wont heat

There is a temperature activated thermostat (TOD) that is located on the back of the oven that would explain the problem you are having. The part can be checked with an ohmmeter and should read 0 resistance if it is good. The part number is 9759243 if your model number in the description is accurate (RBS245PDS)

Whirlpool Double Oven RBD305 Display doesn't show, oven wont work

Most definitely a bad control board and/or soldered components. (The part about cutting power to the oven was a dead giveaway)
There are low and high temperature solders, but usually solder melts at 370° F. If the oven is improperly insulated or ventilated you will have continued heat stress to the control board.

My step Dad's whirlpool, electric, self cleaning oven will not heat up at all. Model # RBS245PD012. The power went out for just a few minutes so he was resetting the clock. An error code E3-F1 is on...

Hey there-
He ended up calling a repair tech.. He came out and ended up replacing the whole control panel.
My step Dad says it works fine now and the clock is a lot brighter on the display than it was before, so maybe it was slowly going out then finally just gave in. ?? Thanks for checking in though.

Whirlpool oven accubake system

I have a whirlpool accubake wall oven. Half-way through baking a pie ,unknown to me, the oven went to the self-clean mode , the door locked and the pie started to burn. I tried to turn the oven off but it would not cut off. I immediately ran to the house's main power and turned off the oven breaker. I waited for a short time to let the oven cool enough to open the door and get the burned pie out, then went back to turn my breaker back on and the oven (even though in the off mode) started heating again with the bottom unit turning red again. I had to then go back and pull the power. We tried this several times trying to push the off button but the oven will not go off until we throw the breaker. Help please!
