Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

The bottom grill or toe plate is held on in one of two standard ways.

Some toe plates are held on with two screws, one at each end. If you do not see any screws then the toe plate is held on with clips, one at each end. Pull straight back firmly at each end of the toe plate to remove.

How to progam main control board on Amana refridgerator

The code instructions are on the tech sheet that is taped to the underside of your refrigerator.

Remove the grill along the front bottom of the refrigerator and look around under the cabinet for the tech sheet. It's usually in a bag or envelope taped to the front right underside of the refrigerator. From there, you just need to follow the instructions.

Good luck!

How to change the water filter on a galaxy 25.4 cu. ft. side-by-side refridgerator

Check the "grill". Best Buy's ad spec sheet stated the filter was located in the grill. I believe there's an access panel on the bottom front of the grill below the doors.

Water is pooling under drawers in bottom of refridgerator and drips behind fridge from the top of drain plug. I took out plug on back of fridge and clean it out, it appeared to be plugged. I do not know...

The drain pan would located at the bottom of the refrigerator near the compressor. You can often remove the drain pan from the front after removing the grill or from the back after pulling the refrigerator out from the wall and removing the access cover.

The unit is dripping water from the opening in the ceiling of refridgerator

The drain at the bottom of the freezer under the coils is clogged. Remove Icemaker if you have one, remove bottom floor of freezer, remove back panel of freezer. Use hairdryer to melt ice. ALL ICE MUST BE REMOVED. Use hot water and a turkey baster to get ice out of drain hole located about middle under coils. Be patient, do not chip ice with sharp tool. After ice is removed pour hot water down drain hole. Water must come out in drain pan under refrigerator(you may have to take front grille off to get to pan)

If Ice returns after a few weeks, you need to look at defrost thermostat which is usually clipped on cold coil at back of freezer. This part or the defrost timer could be defective.

REFRIDGERATOR LEAKING WATER ON THE FLOOR

HI. This may be a drain pan issue.

The drain pan should be removed and cleaned at least once a year. The drain pan is located at the bottom of the refrigerator behind the front grill. Remove the grill, which snaps into place. Grasp the drain pan while pulling slightly upward and forward.

Clean the pan with warm soapy water or warm water and baking soda.

If the pan rattles when it is replaced, it is too close to the compressor. Simply reposition the tray.

If you have an ice-maker, check the water supply hose going into and coming out of the water inlet valve. The hoses may be loose here.

Removing refridgerator grill

Look at the top slots in the grille. If there is a slight cutaway near the ends that is where the release tabs should be. If no release tabs, try a gentle lifting pressure in the grille as you try to pull away. They are made to be removed by the user. Check the manual if you can find it. If no luck, reply, I'll see if I can find one.

1. Press the eject button to release the filter from the base grille.
2. Pull the filter straight out.
3. Turn the cap counterclockwise to remove it from the filter.
IMPORTANT: Do not discard the cap. It is part of your
refrigerator. Keep the cap to use with the replacement filter.
4. Align the ridge on the cap with the arrow on the new filter and
turn the cap until it snaps into place.
NOTE: You can run the dispenser without a filter. Your water
will not be filtered. Simply insert the cap all of the way into the
base grille and rotate the cap until it is firmly in place.
5. Remove the protective covers from the O-rings. Be sure the
O-rings are still in place after the covers are removed.
6. Push the filter into the base grille. The eject button will pop
back out when the filter is fully engaged.
7. Flush the water system. See “Water and Ice Dispensers.”
