Unfortunately, most auto-focus systems require some light to focus with. My cameras have a "focus assist" light that throws a grid of lines out so it can focus. My wife typically covers this light with her hands, and so can't get it to focus in the dark. Check for that.
Have a 40" Dynex LCD TV...Has been workin ok but i just turned it on today and pics are dark and yet all pics settings are ok. Pics are still dark even when i increase brightness from menu.
can you manually change your f-stop to faster shutting. When the shutter stays open longer, it will draw in to much light. If you have an option for only outside pics, then I would try that as well.
You can google search for an app called NOSLEEP.EXE It was written by a Symantec employee to keep your screen active regardless of pic settings. Install and run it. That will verify the issue is with of or monitor Software is free
