How do I turn on the hold music? When a call is on hold, the caller hears nothing and might think they have been cut off. I have pressed "1" on the handset but nothing happens? This is an Advanced Hybrid...

Gess where the music comes from? On the side of the cabinet, or next to the place where all the jacks plug in (depending on system) there's a port called EXT MUSIC or MOH. That's where the music or promotion on hold gets plugged in and then you need to do some system programming to turn it on.

If you Google MUSIC ON HOLD PLAYERS, you'll find a source of good hardware that will let you program or have promotions produced.

Phone is playing music as if on hold constantly. How do you turn this off?

Sounds like your music on hold is also your background music. Need to use the background music on/off code to toggle this feature to the off setting. Don't have it in front of me, should be Function,49, Function.

HOW DO I CHANGE HOLD RINGING MUSIC?

The music is external to the phone system. In the back room or a closet somewhere, there's a dark blue and black cabinet that has a port that's marked MOH. It will go to some kind of box or computer that supplies the music. It may have a model or phone number on it. You change the music by buying or recording new MP3 files to play.

Meridian 7310 phone - any way to turn up volume on hold music???

Music on hold comes from an external box attached to the system cabinet. It should have a volume control on that box.

I can't get the on-hold music to work for our 7731

There could be a number of reasons and it depends on your phone system.

In a TA series, you need to turn on Music (program 111). Additionally, in an 824 you need to enable it per phone (pgm 626).

In the TAW/TDA/TDE family, it has to be turned on (710/711/712), and the code for music is *7511 (0 turns it off).

In the TD series, you use program 803 to select a source or none.

Those are the most recent Panasonic systems. If it still doesn't work, post back with the exact model number of your system cabinet and I'll check if there's different instructions.

Need to change hold music ASAP

How about turning off the Music On Hold source at the phone system. It will be an external device ( radio, mp3 or cd player ) and turn it back on when you are on-line.

Music playing

If your phone does not have a dedicated Music button it is usually the HOLD button. Try the hold button first (with the phone hung up) if that does not work look for a button labeled music or possibly a soft key (key's labeled by an LCD display)
