I have 2000 Oldsmobie Bravada that spits and sputters every time I hit the gas. I've had an induction, transmission flush, tune up (all new wires and spark plugs), new EGR valve, new throttle position...

I went through this problem, and did everything you did, even the SeaFoam. Turns out, the new distributor caps I bought were defective. I switched it out to another brand, worked for a day and then sputtered again. I read somewhere that (FOR THIS VEHICLE) aftermarket caps and rotors aren't manufactured correctly, causing arcing. Switched the cap and rotor to AC Delco brand, and all ran good, going on 1 year now with no problems.

2003 Chevrolet Silverado 4.3 V6 with MFI. Engine ran not start.

Well it could be numerous if things but you want suggestions...So here's mine..Your gas tank might be vapor locked...This is caused from over filling your gas tank with gas over the years..Its when the pressure in your gas tank becomes greater than your fuel pump. It wont start until the pressure in your gas tank becomes lower then you fuel pump...Sounds crazy...This got me once...I didn't understand it...A lot of people (including me) Go to the gas station and get that extra 50 cent after the gas nozzle clicks off...over time that extra gas will run down the vapor lines intended to burn fumes....Like when you fill a gas can to cut your grass...If you sake the gas can it builds pressure and bows up. But with time that pressure will go away...Well saying that...Your gas tank needs to vent to....So your car burns not only gas but fumes...If you keep over filling your car with the extra gas it cloggs up your vapor canister intended for fumes or vapors...The gas will will go into that canister and clogg up the charcoal that's inside it. (Breaks it down) then the vapors can't get to your carburetor where it supposed to burns it. So what happens is the pressure in the gas tank becomes greater than your fuel pump and then car won't start..Are you with me? Lol Its crazy..Putting a different gas cap can cause the same thing...Simple test...When you open your gas cap to get gas.. Do you heat air sucking in.. Yes you can hear it....A lot of times loosening the cap let's the pressure out and the car will start right up.....Thus might not be your problem but worth telling at the gas pumps to other people..... Just trying to help

I have a 1999 Dodge Durango and when I start it up and give it gas, it dies. This has happened several times. I replaced the battery about a year ago and I just got gas two weeks ago and two days after...

Hello--

Well--if it only happens when you get gas and you fill up when on E then there is something in your tank like water or rust.
If you can make it to an autoparts store like Oreilly's they will check the codes (engine light) for free and help you to find the problem.

The only other things I can think of would be a sensor, injector, pump, or gas cap not on or tight. Pull the codes first though.

I hope this helps!

I HAVE A 2009 FRONT TILLER 500 SERIES. RAN FINE LAST YEAR. THIS YEAR STARTS AND STALLS. NEW PLUG, OIL IS OK.AIR FILTER IS CLEAN. IT HAS A FUEL PROBLEM. I CAN GET IT TO STAY RUNNING WITH THE PRIMER.DOES IT...

There are a few things to look at.First and easiest is check the primer bulb and fuel line for any cracks, and the in line fuel filter.Next is a filter on the end of the fuel line, inside the tank.If all of that is ok there is a small screen in the carb. you will have to tear down the carb to get it.

I bought a john deere riding mower less than a year ago. i used it last season without any problems. I think the last time i used it, was in august 2010. winter came about, the grass wasn't growing, so...

First, I've had a motorcycle for almost 50 years and have never drained the gas. At one point it was not used for 3 years. It started, I added gas and it ran fine.
Second, next time you are running the machine and it begins to stall, immediately loosen the gas cap. If it starts to run good again, drill out the air vents on the cap.

I bought the compressor about two years ago and used it only a few times. It ran fine a few weeks ago but today it will not start. It is as though it is not plugged in even though the outlet works for...

Is it possible that you didn't drain the air out of it after you used it a couple of weeks ago? If the pressure in the tank is somewhere around 100psi, the compressor won't run until it drops lower. If there is no pressure in the tank you might see if you can wiggle the pressure lever that makes the switch move to turn on the motor - it might be stuck.
