Ds lite wi fi connect wpa

Try changing your WiFi encription to WEP or no security, this should be available on your cablemodem/router web internface (need a user and password for that) under the Wireless/Security option.

DS Lite is not compatible with any other WiFi encription for online gaming: "Important note about the Nintendo DSi and WPA security: While the Nintendo DSi is compatible with WPA security, Nintendo DS games with online play still require the use of WEP or no security to connect with the Nintendo WFC. Therefore, your connection settings for using these games must be set up on slots 1-3. If you need more details on using your adjusting your router's settings, click here and select your router (if available).

The access point's security settings are not supported by the nintendo DS

This means you've got a WPA/2 security connection on your router/access point, whereas the Nintendo DS only supports WEP or open encryption.
You can:
1) change your security from WPA to WEP on your router
2) Purchase a used nintendo wifi stick
3) Set up a second router or access point with WEP security specifically for your DS

My internet says the access point's security settings are not supported by the nintendo ds. for help visit support.nintendo.com. that is what it says.

Hi weigels,

I see you are getting an error security settigns not support by your Nintendo DS.

I beieve that you are trying to access a wireless connection using your Nintendo DS, the error that you are getting is actually an error saying that your Nintendo DS can detect the router but since your Router has a Network key you then get the error security settings not supported.

for a Nintendo DS it does not support Router settings that have a network security on it, you will have to disable the Routers Network security for you Nintendo DS to be able to access the wireless network of your Router, this will also prevent your Nintendo DS from getting the error security setting not supported.

Note: disabling your Network security will open your Routers signal to anyone who can detect the signal.

I hope this helps.

Have a nice day,

Im trying to get wi-fi connection on it and its telling me that "The access points security settings are not supported by the nintendo ds'

That means that the connection you're trying to connect to is probably a WEP-encrypted WiFi source. The Nintendo DS Lite cannot support that format of WiFi, however Nintendo has posted a very detailed and visual step-by-step guide in how to resolve that here
Just scroll down to "My security settings are not supported or are not compatible" and follow the instructions.

Good luck.

The access point's security settings are not supported by the Nintendo DS

WEP and WPA are types of security that are used to protect home wireless networks. WEP is the only security setting that works with the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite. WPA and WEP are both compatible with the Nintendo DSi. If you are not sure how to find your router's WEP or WPA Key or if you have problems entering it into your Nintendo DS, try the following tips:
so if your wifi is WPA. you wont be able to use wireless
but if your wifi is WEP you can.
WEP is not recommended because it is not secure. Easy to hack

I'm trying to connect to my wifi in my house on my nintendo ds but every time I try it says the access points security settings are not supported for nintendo ds, what should I do?

The security settings on your wireless network's router aren't compatible with the DS. You can change the settings, but then you will have to adjust it for all other devices that use your wireless network. Here is a link to Nintendo's customer service site describing the issue in more detail.

I'm trying to play the new Pokemon Black but I want the free promotional Victini and it says I gotta have Wifi and I'm like "Ok..." And I try to connect it to my houses Wifi but this comes up!...

Hey darthbunnyva!

The reason you need a wi-fi to redeem your pokemon is for Nintendo to be able tu check that every code is unique and people are not cheating the system and getting the pokemons they don't own.

To set up your Nintendo DS for online use just follow these official nintendo guides for configuring your wi-fi
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/index.jsp

Hope this helped!

The Nintendo DS can only connect to 802.11b networks with WEP encryption (see here). Make sure your access point is 802.11b with WEP encryption in order for your Nintendo DS to be able to connect to it. Than you can try connecting it again.
Good luck.
