Are you sure it is asking for a serial number, or is it a password and or pin code. Machine will not ask for a serial number. Never in ten years have I seen that

you have to replace the parts its need or Replace Chip on the
image unit
Take the front plastic cover off the black IU and you will see the chip (a small pcb ) that you need to replace. Unplug the connector and remove the old board. Put the new pcb in and connect the connector.

You need a new touch screen panel or I/O cable, they are fairly expensive if you don't have a service contract with your Office Printer supplier. Recently just replaced one a few months ago.
