Hi there, is there no set if three to five buttons on the edge of the bezel, plastic? Any chance if a universal remote around? Some new Droid devices are IR TV remote capable nowadays. Otherwise, check Google, as many sets are made by only a handful of manufacturers, and "branded" hundreds if different names, so many remotes are oddly compatible between brands. Good luck.

How to change sylvania tv to video without remote

I was able to get the Sylvania TV to accept a different input (the remote was lost) by connecting the DVD to a Sony VCR using composite RCA jacks then connecting that to the TV. You'll need two 3-jack (yellow, white, red composite) cables - cheap at any store. Here;s how:
1. Connect RCA output jacks from the DVD to the input female receptacles of the VCR (first cable).2. Connect output jacks from VCR to the female input jacks on TV (second cable). 3. Turn on all equipment (VCR, DVD, TV)4. Switch the VCR to "Line 1" (for my Sony VCR, this shows up as "L1") by pressing the TV/VCR button on the VCR remote (which I did have).
Your system should now work.
The principle is to "fool" the TV into thinking that it's primary input is through the RCA composite A/V jacks rather than the cable connection. No need to disconnect the cable at any time. Any functioning VCR should work well as long as you have the remote for that device. Remember, connect output on the DVD to the input on the VCR, then the output on the VCR to the input jacks on the back of the TV. If you have the connectors on the TV, VCR, and DVD, component cables should work as easily. Remember, output from the DVD goes to the input of the VCR. Theoutput from the VCR (for which you DO have the remote) goes to the input side of the TV.
Good luck!

Trying to hook up an emerson dvd player to tv and its not working? older tv it has no cable hook up or control box for channel set up, shouldnt the dvd player still be able to work though?

IM GUESSING THIS MIGHT BE AN RCA TELEVISION? if you dont have an rca in hook up on the tv give up and buy a new tv or you can find an older item what it is is a switch that has an rca input and a coax output it was used to hook up the older video game systems it is still sold in most stores and that will work if you do have rca inputs and lost the remote you need to get a universal remote to switch the input on certain older rca tv's you could go to channel 00 and it would set it to the input with the switch you shoudl be able to use it by putting the tv on channel 3

Auxillary channel for dvd

You need to determine what output options your DVD player has. Take a look at the rear of the player. It will certainly have RCA jacks for video and audio outputs (yellow for video, red and white for right and left channel audio). It may also have RCA jacks for component video (marked Y, Pb and Pr). Finally, it may have a threaded connector marked "out to TV" or "antenna out" or something similar. This is called RF output.

Most players today don't offer RF output because nearly every TV has direct AV inputs available. If your DVD player has RF output, connect the output connector to the TVs antenna input. You need a coaxial cable with F-connectors on the ends. One may have been supplied with the player. RF output is on channel 3 or 4, set by a switch on the back of the player or by its on-screen setup. Just set the TV to that channel to watch a DVD.

If your player doesn't have RF output, you connect it to the TV using the AV jacks. You need cables with RCA plugs to to connect the video and audio from the player to the TV. Then you switch the TV to its video input to watch the DVD.

This is where you might run into problems. Many TVs need the original remote control to switch inputs. (Some older RCA sets used channels 90, 91 and 92 to switch to their video inputs so any remote would work, but these sets were made before 125-channel tuning became standard. If your set is one of those models, those are the auxiliary channels you heard about.) If you can't switch the set to video input with front panel buttons and you don't have the right remote, you're not completely out of luck.

If you can't use your set's AV inputs or it just doesn't have any, you need an RF converter. These cost around $15. They take the audio and video from the DVD player and convert it to channel 3 or 4. Then you hook that output to your TV as described above.

Can not get sound from stero to the tv but can get sound comming from vcr can you help me

You have to check you input and output sources and coordinate The same input and out puts with you remote controls. For instance output one on the stereo goes to input one on you television and output two goes to input two on you television. The switching should be done on both remotes unless you are using a single output from your stereo to the input on you television. In this way one setting on the television will be fine and all the input switching will be done from the stereo unit. All this information should be in your owners manuals for the products in how to hook up external devises to you television. Hope this helps you with your problem.

Is Sony DAV-S500 optical input compatible with optical output from Pioneer DVD player DV-566K?

I don't think this has an Optical but a Coaxial connection. You might try a coaxial audio cable not optical.
