Broken adjustment knob on Zone VI 4x5 Field Camera

I own a Zone VI 4x5 Field Camera, in almost mint condition, except for one of the adjustment knobs/screws (left hand, that controls the rise) has sheared off. It seems to be made of brass. Is it possible to buy a replacement knob, or to have a new one made?
Would appreciate any help you can give!

Thank you for that prompt response. I think that I expressed myself badly though: I should have said that the knob itself is fine, it is the screw which fits in to it and that is attached to a slider that is broken. I think that the hard part will be finding a local tool & die place willing to take on such a small job! I was not aware of the Luminous Landscape forum either so will try and take a look there. Thanks!

Any decent amateur engineer or professional engineering workshop should be able to turn a functional replacement for you quite cheaply and certainly quicker than you could order a spare part.

If you want the knob to look totally original then you'll have to pay a little more, but from what I've seen (from photos on the Luminous Landscape forum) it's very easy to fabricate an identical one if you provide the broken parts (or better still an unbroken one from another part of the camera) as a pattern to work from.

Cant open Kalart 4x5 Camera

Kalart is the brand of the rangefinder not the camera. A speed graphic normally opens by pressing a concealed button located on the top of the camera middle front. Suggest you also check out the website Graflex.org for further info and shooting tips.

Hi < I have have just aquired a5x4 toyo view C camera. the upright sections with the racks are worn, can I get spares for these or even a complete standard. Regards Jim

You can order parts for most Toyo cameras direct from Toyo. You'd have to contact them directly for pricing, and they'd either give you something there, or refer you to one of their dealers to handle it. They have a website, toyoview.com from which you can get contact information.

My1998 buick lesabre has just had a low mileage engine and trans installed. 7000 miles every thing works well except the transmission shifts harder than normal is there an adjustment to soften the shift?

there is no adjustment, this trans has computer controlled shifting, you can inquire with the dealer to see if there is a software update to help with this, another thing is dirty/worn out fluid can cause this condition, try changing to the new DEXRON VI ATF, it greatly improves shift quality..
