Sorry to hear you have a C-14a3 code. In my experience, this code spells disaster for the 161f. The image reader has failed. The part can be replaced, but the cost would almost outweigh the cost of replacing the machine. I have personally had to deal with two 161f with the same code. Both times we changed the machine (because it was on contract).
Usually a fuser unit isn't a replaceable item by the end user. It requires a service technician to repair because they are wired to a circuit board and there are glass components in them that have to be handled carefully.
