Simple. Measurements. Unless i'm missing something here.
Take present oven detailed measurement, compare it to the newer oven's detailed measurement.

Sears is a department store. They do not build their own appliances. They contract with many different manufacturers to build all of their appliances. This chart will help you determine who actually built your appliance, then you can choose the manufacturer from the charts on this page.

The first 3 digits of the model number determine who built your Sears / Kenmore Unit. This can be helpful if looking for repair or replacement parts.

Defy slimline eyelevel oven installed in cupboard.

Assuming it is an electric built in or built under oven, these are commonly fitted into a dedicated cupboard (oven housing) that matches the other kitchen units and typically little or no facility for ventilation is provided.
Electric ovens are usually so well insulated and covered with reflective foil the need for ventilation is minimal, especially when a standard size oven is fitted into the correct standard sized housing as it will provide an air-space of an inch or more all around.

It can be expected the housing near the top of the oven will become warm after a while and the shelf above likely to become warm enough to soften a candle but if it gets hot enough to actually melt a candle I think that is rather too hot. The addition of additional insulation and reflective material should improve matters greatly.

I suggest you approach the guy who fitted the oven if it was professionally fitted. It would have been his responsibility to only fit a suitable appliance and if additional ventilation was required he should have advised you.

I believe I have seen some oven housings with a slim grille over the oven and it is probable there would have also been a slot cut at the rear and perhaps a short piece of trunking to carry warm air away from the space directly above the oven.

I have a GE wall oven, model # JKP07G004B0 and I would like to replace it. I need to know which new one will fit the space.

Hello,

Since it is so old the diminsions are no longer available online and the only way to get the size is pull it out 4-6 inches and measure height, width and depth of the cut out portion of the cabinet it fits into

Have a Kenmore Elite Built-In oven 790.4812. It's a double oven. Was working fine. 1 year old. Wife self-cleaned upper oven for first time. Oven does not work now. Sears Repair guessing that the oven...

It has nothing to do with the tight fit.
It has everything to do with self-cleaning on ovens.
The thermal fuse blows due to extreme temperatures.
Replace the fuse to use the oven.
Use an oven cleaner to clean the oven OR replace more fuses in the future.

Replacement for built in oven/microwave

Hello tippett_631

Welcome to fixya,

You said, ,
22 years ago you built the house you are currently living in. The above oven/microwave oven was built in. You are interested in replacing this unit with a new unit but it must be the same size. ? by the way i You would be happy with a double oven versus the microwave/oven duo. You have measured across the front of the unit and it only measures 26" across. Any assistance you could give us would be greatly appreciated.

I can help you!
The front is 26 inches.
And how high is it from the top to bottom?
Also when I sell a wall oven I always send out the installer to check the hole or cutout size.
Most of the time no wall oven fits with out at least one cut!
Do you have any room to cut a little on all sides?
What is your model number now. And what color do you want now??
I will send you some GE wall oven models and sizes so you can check your self if it will fit. usually they have to cut at least one side to fit it in the old hole!

Wall Oven does not fit flush into built in cabinet

I HAVE SEEN SOME CABINET MAKERS BUILD A TRIM PIECE THAT GOES ALL THE WAY AROUND THE EXISTING HOLE THAT HAS AN OUTSIDE DIMENSION LARGER THAN THE CABINET HOLE AND AN INSIDE DIMENSION TO FIT THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE OVEN. IT ATTACHES TO THE FACE OF THE CABINET AND STAINED TO MATCH THE CABINET FINISH.
