1. Unplug the Canon MP610.
2. Click on the Start Menu, then Control Panel. Open the Printers, or Devices and Printers control panel. Find your Canon MP610 printer and Delete or Remove the device by Right Clicking on the device and selecting Delete or Remove.
3. Restart the PC.
4. When in Windows, plug your Canon MP610 in and wait for device installation to complete, or reinstall the CD drivers.
5. Try printing a test page.

You've eliminated all other options, so obviously your printer is defective.

Call canon if it is under warranty, otherwise you will have to replace it.

Yes. PIXMA MP610 is a multifunction printer that has printer/copier/scanner capabilities.
Just install the software and drivers supplied with your printer (or download them from CANON ) and connect the printer do the computer.
The printer sofware will guide you through the operation of scanning an image and saving it to a a file in the computer.

Without the resetter it will continue to give error codes, holding the resume button for 5-10 seconds sometimes will turn off ink level reporting, but you either need the resetter or to purchase and install reset circuit boards on each cartridge you refill.

I had the same problem with one of these units. I had another one that worked great so I knew it should work. I called Canon and after some questions about the problem they sent me a replacement unit which works fine.

either the power cord wire of the printer which u connect to the electrical outlet is fitted loose there check out.
or the same power cord wire which is also fitted to the printer is slightly loose there internally.u just have to open the printer and on the main circuit board of the printer there is a jack located where u insert the power wire.just solder that loose jack properly .and this problem will go.
