Try clearing the error in service mode:
1. Function key, 2 and 8 together, Function key
2. Copier >> Functions >> Clear >> ERR
3. Leave the service mode and restart the printer
If this does not solve the problem, I highly recommed to you to call your local technician from Canon.
Hi
Whilst looking through the web I found this procedure for clearing errors from ir series Canons. You might like to try it first.
Additional Functions: Click the Additional Functions button once. Do not hold down.
Two and Eight Buttons: Click the 2 and 8 buttons at the same time once.
Additional Functions Revisited: Click the Additional Functions button once again. Do not hold down.
Copier Button: The System Management screen will open. Click the Copier button on the screen.
Function Button: Click the Function button at the top of the screen.
Clear Button: Click the Clear button on the screen.
ERR Button: Click the ERR button to highlight it.
OK Button: Click the OK button at the bottom of the screen.
Power Off/Power On: Power the unit off and back on using the switch on the side of the unit. The error will be cleared.
If this doesn't work, I found a complete list of error codes here: Error Codes Canon iR3320
There are 12 pages of them but yours appears to be on the first and related to the temperature of - or lack of - the fixing unit. From this site you can also buy a service manual which may also be helpful to you rather than the User Manual/Guide.
Cheers
Fixing film assembly may need to be replaced if error cannot be cleared. Fixing error codes should be reset by a professional only. Fuser assembly must be examined before resetting the E000, E001, E003 and E007 codes. Enter the service mode this way: Press "Additional Function" key, Press "2" and "8" simultaneously, press "Additional Function" key again.
Go to COPIER----FUNCTIONS-----CLEAR----ERR. Here your tech can reset the error codes. Then turn machine off & on again.
sol1) In service mode copier- function- clear- error. (Service mode can be accessed by pressing additional functions- 2-8-additional functions in quick succession). This should help
OR Sol 2) Open the display unit of your copier and take it for dry soldering. Note:- expert help may be required for step 2. don't try yourself.
OK, but first try to clear the error under service mode, then replace fixing film assy, for EU 240V is FG6-6041. To clear the error: * 2 8 * COPIER FUNCTION CLEAR ERR OK Turn off and on ( main switch )
Probably the copier is iR C5185i - E004 = Fixing unit protection circuit trouble
- 0401 = Check the connection of the connectors of the relay PCB, the IH power supply, the fixing thermoswitch, and replace the fixing unit (fixing thermoswitch OFF), the relay PCB, and the IH power PCB (blowout of the FU261). In the service mode, clear the error by selecting COPIER > FUNCTION > CLEAR > ERR. You need a canon technician to resolve this problem.
